AniPhoenix said:My favourite anime of all time is definitely the main fate series, but Kara no kyoukai is definitely the most "artistic" for me.. Fate is easier to digest while Kara no kyoukai really relies on you to fill in the gaps yourself
Ranking each installment though

2. Fate/Zero - 9/10
3. Kara no Kyoukai Movie 7 - 9/10

4. Fate Unlimited Blade Works - 9/10
5. Kara no kyoukai Mirai Fukuin - 8/10
6. Kara no kyoukai Movie 3 - 8/10
7. Fate/Stay Night(2006) - 7/10
8. Kara no Kyoukai Movie 4 - 7/10
9. Kara no Kyoukai Movie 2 - 7/10
10. Kara no Kyoukai Movie 6 - 6/10
Visuals:
It isn't really fair to compare the visuals of Kara no kyoukai and fate cause fate came like 10 years after Kara no kyoukai, we can see from the models and rendering to the action choreo and how its shot that Fate has improved on the foundations of KNK(I'll start shortening it now).
Characters:
Though I love the cast in KNK, I do love the cast in Fate more.. Shirou, Emiya(archer), kiritsugu and kirei are all just golden written characters. Although I do think Shiki is as well written as Emiya, shirou, kiritsugu etc.. There are just way more of that top tier character writing in Fate
Soundtrack:
Unlike the animation or artstyle, the soundtrack for these 2 shows are DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT.. I slightly prefer fate because I'm a huge Lisa, Aimer, Kalafina, and ReOna fan, but the soundtracks in Kara no Kyoukai are just so unique that I can't really compare it to any other soundtracks I've heard before.
Story/Direction:
I honestly prefer KNK over fate when it comes to story direction. Fate has just too many complications when it comes to their adaptations
- Fate/Stay Night(2006) - takes parts from the unlimited blade works and heaven's feel routes
- Fate Heaven's Feel - cut so much stuff out
The only "perfect" adaptations I can think of are the unlimited blade works route and Zero. KNK on the other hand just gives banger adaptations one after another without changing too much and taking artistic risks that might not be well received by the general public(the 8th film is literally 100% dialogue). Everything besides the garbage 6th movie that feels like filler are perfect.
While I'm already in this long rant, let me praise KNK even more with what they did with movie 5... I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY. The way they told their story without losing me in confusion was phenomenal and the way they didn't go chronological like 3-1-2 instead of 1-2-3 just... SKFJSN
Conclusion.. Nothing, I love fate more because of the characters and world, but if I had to pick the one that wowed me more and left a deeper impression, I'd pick Kara no Kyoukai always.
