I feel like it is a mixture of both. A lot of snaller franchises don't get additional seasons though. |

Maybe it's because they have high budget to make multiple seasons very fast and since Chinese audience is very large they won't be in any type of loss anyways.. |

| It's pretty normal for donghua to get follow up seasons while a season is still airing. good hype for viewers |
