Status for the 3rd season adaptation? Anyone?

So I just finished watching both the 1st and 2nd season of this, and it was good.. And I looked on the infos of the supposedly sequel of second season.. It was announced 2 years ago. . Are there any announcements? Date? Or did they cancelled it? Cuz usually it will not take this long if the committee announced it..

They just announced the third anime for 2022 and also a prequel of sorts which follows the early days of Oshtor, Mikazuchi and Munechika.

I just hope they don't mess up the adaptation the same way Mask of Deception/False Faces did.
