What an incredible show, i kind of love it.
It's relentlessly grim but also stylish and cool and there's multiple things in this show i've never seen before in any other series. Definitely not everyone though, i can see a lot of people hating it due to it's tone and content.

I just finished episode 8 and describing what happens is making me laugh at how messed up and absurd it is. A samurai punches a guy so hard that his jaw is left flapping around like 6 inches below the rest of his face, he then spinning back fists another guy hard enough to decapitate him. Then the guy with the jaw attacks the samurai but is hit so hard his eye balls pop right out of his head. The samurai then eats one of them like it's a tasty snack.

Later on in the episode the same samurai gives himself head for......reasons....

Why is this my hobby?
What happens with Austin 3:16 meets Pillman; 9mm glock?

I love Shigurui. It's slow paced, very bright, ultra violent and even very silent at certain points. There are no shows like this AFAIK, it's very unique.

If you like this show, I found it had some similarities to a show called “texhnolyze”, I think these two shows are some of the most underpraised anime I’ve seen
