Does no longer human have the same story as the manga? I went to the library today and saw the manga there but I wasn't sure if to buy it.

Hi Dixoncider8142,

Are you asking about the Junji Ito manga adaptation in comparison to the original No Longer Human novel written by Danzai?

If so, I'd say that Ito's adapatation follows the story to an extent, but it does not follow the story exactly. I've read some of the Ito manga adaptation, and whole of the English novel translation by Donald Keene (I can't read Japanese). My opinion is that Ito's rendition is more similar to a ghost story. It's still great adaptation if you are looking for a horror story about a man haunted by regret and unable to understand the world he lives in, but I personally think that Aoi Bungaku did a much better job of staying faithful to the original tone and message. I don't know about other adaptations as I have not read them yet, but if you liked the story and don't mind reading a short novel, I definitely recommend looking up the original book.

Thanks, I found the manga by Ito at the library and it looked like it was a horror manga instead of a depressing one. I will see if the library has the novel but for now, I will be watching it. I liked the first episode.
