While the manga is still ongoing, the anime adapted up to chapter 29 and in the same chapter, there is a certain big event that introduce us to a new arc. This event is omitted in the anime, so I guess that they avoided showing this because they have no intention to adapt the rest, but who knows...

I would gladly welcome a new season though but you would have to wait a bit since there is only 37 chapters as of today.

I personally don't really see the need for it - at least not immediately. The show was fine as it is - and it has a full-fledged conclusion as well. I would argue that the show only is as good as it is because it doesn't try to pull anything unreasonable - it's solid - but the good kind of solid where you don't want anything on top of it to potentially ruin the overall reception.

Maybe if the source material gives away enough for another season-lenght story arc in the future - but as it stands there would be no downside of the show concluding as it is. Was a fine ride - nothing really was missed - now on to another project. ;)

Is the original story still going on? Hell, the last two episodes felt like all that was left for Ninomiya's full ending was to give birth to a son and build a house.

The last two episodes are indeed very faithful to the manga except the fact it does not stop there. Indeed, these episodes show the rise of Ninomiya to the pinnacle of this world.

So you might believe "ok, he achieved his goal, end of the story" and it does stay this way in the anime, but as you can believe, if the manga is still ongoing, it means it didn't in fact stayed like that for too long.

So the anime just used it as the most serious end to the adaptation without the annoying "buy manga to see what's next"?

Yup, the fact that in the anime there is no cliffhanger at the end tells me that they wanted to wrap the story here. The manga before the anime was announced was a bit obscure.

As you might already know, the main purpose for a non-original anime is to promote the original story. For an anime to receive another season, the anime must be quite popular and/or sells very well. They might have planned from the start that the adaptation of this niche little manga, although quite good, would not make a huge boom in the industry, which would explain this conclusion.

Your words reminded me of Kakegurui, where each season ended with anime-only content for fear that there would be no new anime and they would need to adequately finish cour.

Well, if an underwhelming anime like Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World could get another season, I don’t see why this can’t

I've never been so wrong about an anime as I have been with this one!
When I first saw the trailer and synopsis I thought this show was gonna mega blow and wasn't even gonna watch it.
But I still gave it a try cause my niece said we should and damn did I love this show! Never thought id want a season 2 so bad!
Definitely reading the manga.

And if they do, fucking get rid of Klee's voice actress. Jebus what a horrifyingly ugly and hoarse voice.

Well as i see it its perfect ending and there no need for another season. And the source material has a lower score than the adaptation witch dosnt get my hopes up for another seadon.

very unlikely, the show went out of its way to change the last scene of the anime from what is in the manga so that we don't have a cliffhanger ending. probably implies there is no plan for a season 2.

Didnt read the manga, but I assume that they may have plans for a second season since at the end, ninomiya did say that he was going to conquer the other countries. Plus the speech at the end where ninomiya picked up the coin and said to the coin to "follow me and I will show you how I will conquer this world", when you think about it, is referring the coin as us, which could be a way for the anime to assure us that there will be more to come. Which kind of makes me think season 2 could be likely to happen.

Though I feel like in the end, is up to the studio as to whether they want to continue and make a season 2. For now, all we can do is wait.
