I watched the 1st season anime do i stick with the anime or the manga?
And if i start with the manga what chapter should i start from?

I would honestly reread from the start. Just stick with the manga, the anime is a failure

Read the manga if you're planning on finishing the series. RE isn't that good, and root A isn't fully canon. If you only want to watch out the series put it down after root A. It ends at an okay point.

The manga is great, and the anime skips and changes alot. If you don't mind reading, then it's definitely the best way to go.

Oh also like everyone else is saying, if you're going to read the manga, I'd recommend you start from the beginning, the anime cut a lot of stuff.

Definitely read the manga! The anime rushed a lot... And start reading from the beginning, because the first season of the anime cut a lot of information.

Read the manga from the start... Anime destroyed it completely u will be confused in anime... I suggest to read the manga from the start it is interesting enough u will not get bored... If they had adapted exact manga to anime... The anime would be a top class anime

Season 1 roughly covers up to chapter 66, but cuts out a lot of important scenes that are relevant later. Read from chapter 1 to avoid missing anything important. While a few people may suggest starting at chapter 46.5 (the beginning of the Aogiri arc, half of it was cut out in the anime), there's several chapters of material that were cut out in earlier arcs as well, some of which are relevant later in the story. You can get through the parts the anime covered pretty quickly, and there are scenes that weren't in the anime so it won't be a complete re-tread. Skipping chapters will just make later parts of the manga harder to follow, so it's best to read from the start.

both because root a is an anime original and it's pretty good, not as good as manga, but It's a time well spent
