i saw that from season 1 to 2 we waited for 2 years so i was just wondering if thats going to happen what are the chances of it realising sooner

8bit is probably gonna spend most of 2022 on Blue Lock, so season 3 is probably coming winter/spring 2023

Not exactly, Kodansha is running the manga as well taking part of the comitee running this anime. It doesnt want tthe anime to be ahead of manga, if it does then the manga sales will be reduced and Kodansha wont be satisfied.

Right now the anime adapted until chapter 84, and it only takes 2 more chapters to finish the actual arc (LN Volume 6). As how much content the manga need to be written to do another season, who knows, maybe only the Volume 7 content or even Vol 8,9,10 and whatever Kodansha needs...

Yeah that is a fair point if Kodansha has a say in that matter then it would matter more to them so it could take even longer for a season 3 then normal. Even if the anime is only now at the end of volume 6 of the LN with the manga behind it will take longer for a new season.

Covid may have delayed productions but I’m not sure. I reckon there will be something slime related but not the main story in between season 2 and 3. Maybe some more ovas or perhaps season 2 of slime diaries. Maybe we even get season 1 of the ways of the monster nation or another spin off.
Either way it will be at least a couple years because season 2s pretty much caught up with the manga now so if we want another 24 episode season it may be a few years. But the shows incredibly popular both in Japan and overseas so it will come eventually. We’ll have Overlord, Konosuba, Mushoku Tensei, Iseaki Quartet and Rising of the shield hero to tide us over on the isekai front until then.
