Would it get another one? Doubtful. Western audience has liked the series but Japan didn’t, it had low scores, lower than expected and reviews don’t look so favorable. So chances for other season, even when there’s material available, are rather slim.

I will recommend the source material always. There’s so much content left out (Well, they are adaptations after all not copy paste) but I am not quite sure how many are available in English (Not fan translations available because this one has official release) but if you don’t have a problem reading them in japanese then, yes, the LNs are much better.
