G-Reco also explores it; Ameria views the war as both stopping Capital Territory's global monopoly on technology/energy and pre-emptively stopping an invasion by Towasanga, and certain factions of Ameria sound like they just want to replace Capital Territory's monopoly with their "Amerian Empire". Capital Territory views their monopoly and the technological taboos of SU-Cordism as a means to prevent humanity from repeating the mistakes of Universal Century, to them Towasanga is a "holy land" delivering photon batteries to the people of Earth. It's all baked into the terminology and names (Reconguista is derived from Reconquista). |
