It's not for everyone, but if it's for you... Boy does it hit. I had fun with this one too.

It still has pretty immense popularity though I don't think it's in need of more exposure.

Too many to count mainly because of its community on social media or the people who enjoyed it a lot turn it into a joke of a show by making it a key part of their personality to the point it makes you sick

I don’t understand the hate honest. People said it was too predictable because the mc always wins, but that’s a really dumb argument considering most protagonists in anime win the battle or something. The animation is good, it does what it’s meant to do. It’s disturbing because it’s trying to be. The games seem really fun and well thought out. And I know it’s not really a GL’s anime, but a lotta BL’s fans hate it because it seems like a GL’s and condemn others for liking it. Just too hypocritical. It’s not trying to be one of the greats, it’s just plainly entertaining.

The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

believe me 90% of the hate is just because some ppl started comparing it with kaiju just bc both are about gambling

believe me 90% of the hate is just because some ppl started comparing it with kaiju just bc both are about gambling

Kinda silly how an anime gets trashed on because it’s just a little similar to another one. I personally enjoy most anime and I don’t see the need to feel like I work at Rotten Tomato’s and rate things into the ground. But oh well.

Yeahhhh, and they say that it’s pedo to like this anime because the girls are in highschool but most anime and even BL anime/manga are set in highschool. Dumb arguments.

On another note a pretty good anime that breaks this almost everyday thing is Recovery of an MMO Junkie one of the only shows I have seen that the main characters are all adults. A good change of pace

I wouldn’t say that people trash on Kakegurui because they’re similar, they’re compared because Kaiji would probably be considered the best gambling anime and I think a lot of people in fact would prefer if Kakegurui was more like Kaiji, what I mean by that is the biggest appeal of gambling is the tension behind it, the thrill of seeing what will happen next, the high stakes and the unpredictability of it,
Kaiji delivered all of this really well, whereas Kakegurui was the opposite in my opinion
To each their own though.

I was someone who put off watching it for a while since everyone who told me how good it was coincidentally happened to be people that I found annoying/didn’t get along with (not saying people who like the show are annoying, just an unfortunate circumstance I was in). Unfortunately due to this childish outlook I had, I didn’t watch it until the second season came out. I genuinely felt a little bad for not watching it earlier, since it genuinely is a good show. While it’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, it’s well written and a pleasant surprise. And while I wouldn’t consider it a “must see” or one of the best of its respective year, I do still highly recommend that anyone who hasn’t watched it take a look to at least know what’s going on.

Let's be honest it's not that good. The only reason why it got popular was because Netflix made it a orginal. Same thing that happened to high rise invasion. A really bad show but got popular because Netflix got it. At this point anything that goes on Netflix will automatically become popular

After putting it on hold for almost 1 year I decided to watch it, although it's not my cup of tea I don't believe it's as shitty as people make it out to be. Plotwise, let's just say I've seen better, but the art and character designs are top tier. I'd say it's a solid 6

I enjoyed it to , .... I found it rather cringy and weird at some moments, ...like getting an orgasm from sheer will power of the brain is not something you see everyday,... regardless, it had it's redeeming points, which kept me on my toes, but not enough to get me interested in the manga, maybe if the make a season 3

I'm a monogatari enthusiast to the core...and i like some wholesome stuff too

i watched this one at 8th grade before the hype and i had fun tbh but when i rewatched it years later i really get annoyed by the sexualization and the queerbaiting? gambling is an interesting subject and the show was not as bad as people tell

One of my favorite animes and was the first anime series I watched, but it's not something for everyone. I hinged the series in three days, so I really enjoyed it.

At least how I see it, people dislike the show because gambling revolves around tension, and having a predictable show, it renders the show to be boring.

I think, the problem with kakegurui is about the gambling. Character in Kakegurui seems like pretty chill when they lose money, they just care about being that slave or go to low society. I know you can say "oh they all rich people so money isn't a problem" but hey man. When I was 20, I'm kinda addicted to football betting, my biggest lose is about $800. 800 dollars is like 2-3 month avarage salary in here. What i do? I cry like a baby, rolling in my bedroom like a girl. I can make that 800 dollars kinda easy, but still i will angry, sad, cry when i lose much money.
