Yes this movie is cannon, and while I wouldn't say it's an alternative ending its more of an opening for the new movie imo

Sorry, i wrote that when i was at the beginning of movie but now i understand now that i am further into the movie. I guess i should just ask questions when i actually finish the movie.. eh he... But thank you for answering my first question!

It’s a continuation of the series. You’ll be confused for a while but I think it’s a masterpiece. One of my only 10/10s.
