This anime did something to me

This anime is so good and so funny, that I noticed that I can’t seem to enjoy other comedy anime as much as I used to. As you can see from my MAL Completed anime list, the anime that I favored recently are not comedies and favor them for other reasons.

Does this mean that I’ll never be able to watch any more anime because I found THE anime for me, or is this just because recent anime just isn’t as good as this?

Everyone has a favourite anime that is, in their opinion, better than everything else they've watched. You might end up finding something eventually, but that didn't happen in my case.

Happened to me a couple times but you just have to find the right one that’s on par or better

Don't worry. I'd say that this is just an effect of just recently watching the series. I've also gone through similar experiences.
If you give it some time, you'll surely go back to enjoying other comedy shows, sooner or later, even if this is your favorite.

But the recent anime “comedies” aren’t helping my case much. They’re just not funny; and the people who run ANN’s summer previews agree with me.

I won't lie, this is one of those animes I put off for quite a while, just cause the idea looked stupid to me. But yeah now that I watched it, it's one of my all time favorites, it's hard to find comedies that hit this level of enjoyment for me.
