This donghua is very odd. Like the first season was average at best, then that cliffhanger left me longing for more and then the 1st episode of this season started out so good! Aaaah... now I am hooked :D

Even Gao Yao is not annoying me anymore, which tells a lot. :)

first thing i noticed was the cgi was improved quite a bit

next thing i thought was...why are we watching this fight/chase again? and why have they completely changed what happened last season? but then it made sense when i realized that girl was just telling a story

don't really care about the bandits or that big guy chasing the mc. but i was pretty interested by this new patriarch and his younger sister who's investigating the bullet casings. she knows their manufacturing is beyond her knowledge. also interested in that red assassin returning. is the red assassin the same person he accidentally knocked off the cliff (except she was wearing regular clothing at the time), or is that a whole new character that will be making multiple appearances? or maybe it's a rando and we'll never see them again, idk

i gave season 1 a 6/10. i give season 2's first episode a 7/10. tbd if it's actually better and can maintain that rating or if it'll revert to last season's average
