The overarching narrative ruined this show

In my opinion wonder egg priority would of made a much better episodic story focused on the character development of the main four girls and the various ways social pressures affect young girls lead to suicide. Have each episode to be somewhat self contained narratively focusing on a new wonder egg and suicide and how the main quartet reacts and grows. Adding unnecessary plot elements like AI and multiple universes just diluted the best part of the anime, the girl's relationships. All of the best moments in the show were developments of character rather than development of plot points.

Yeah i actually agree with that. Felt that it made the show hard to follow as well

I sort of disagree with this one. Wonder Egg Priority didn't make sense at all at the start but later on introduced a lot of concepts from psychoanalysis, to even compare Frill as the incarnation of Thanatos and how Ai's super-ego version from the 3 different Ais becomes an Eros warrior. I think it added a lot more potential to the show in terms of "fantasy" and "psychological" and it might be interesting to see how Ai would manage to defeat an omnipresent being inducing those suicidal thoughts on the Wonder Egg girls. But yeah, I also loved the relationship the girls had, just that it might really break apart with this pacing (if there's ever a second season, that is).

I think that the story was doing it GREAT carrying both topics: suicide/depression and Frill/AI/Parallel universe. BUT, one last chapter of 20 min was not enough AT ALL to treat and close those things properly. The production organization was a mess I have read. I still have hopes that they announce a sequel.

While i think that all of the themes introduced by the wider story were interesting i think they weakened the themes started in earlier episodes by creating a 'reason' for the suicides. As before they had always been caused by natural means but the reveal of frill (IMO) made it seem like there was now this big evil suicide boss who was causing the girls to kill themselves instead of actual human reason. I think it took away from one of the most powerful parts of the show which was how the monsters were never defeated by by overpowering them but by the girls finding an understanding with the person in the egg which showed how through human companionship we can help those suffering. But yeah the ideas proposed in the last few episodes were definitely interesting and maybe if the show had a larger episode count or a second season i would like them more
