Really enjoyed this chapter. I think that Oushi is beginning to acknowledge how difficult he is being and is wanting to change himself for the better. Yuki's acceptance of his changes is admirable and the interactions that Oushi had with Yuki here really suggests that keeping her friendship is worth changing for.

As much as I didn't like Emma before, I'm beginning to appreciate her more after this chapter. I get it - being in love sometimes makes you do things that are reprehensible and aggravating. I mean, even Shin kinda did it - He had a new girlfriend every month because he couldn't date Emma since he respected her love for Itsuomi. What I really enjoyed about the scenes with Emma and Shin is that after Shin told Emma about Itsuomi being in a relationship, she didn't bawl or throw a tantrum. She took the time to listen to everything Shin had to say and focused solely on him. I mean, had she made the whole situation about wallowing in self-remorse, I would truly hate her. But Emma understands that like her, Shin had an unrequited love for a very long time. Even if Emma turns Shin down in the present time, I think that she will eventually fall deeply in love with him.

I was worried that we would get bread crumbs of Yuki and Itsuomi and although their interaction wasn't very long here, it was really just so adorable. I love that Itsuomi continues to teach Yuki about how to make the very best of her situations without having to forfeit everything that she loves. I think it's really nice to see the differences between how they show their affection for each other; when Yuki sought out Itsuomi twice on the same day (once at Rockin' Robin and then leaving her home to go see him outside), Itsuomi was really touched by the fact that his presence alone makes her incredibly happy. It's great that they don't seem to have an unhealthy need to be glued to each others' sides 24/7 and that the distance between them is sometimes a good thing too. I'm beginning to see some internal conflict developing within Yuki, such as not being able to communicate with Itsuomi as well as she would like to regardless of the time of day; I don't think that Yuki has ever seen her hearing impairment as a crippling deficit, but I think that once you love someone so much, often times things that are outside of your control will feel like shortcomings and negatively impact you - I wonder if Suu Morishita will tackle this topic in the manga and if they do, how they intend to do it. Also, the fact that Yuki and Itsuomi can have a full conversation without typing on cellphones shows how far they have come in their communication and relationship in such a short amount of time - It speaks volumes on their love for each other and I'm melting!!! Finally, the way Itsuomi loomed over Yuki so she could "take a good look" at his face had me grinning so widely - oh the Chadness!

I'm curious to see what the next chapter will entail. I imagine it'll be focused primarily on Itsuomi and Yuki's date together. Knowing Yuki, she'll probably pick a place that Itsuomi will enjoy. I wonder if they have World Cultures fairs or international food stands in the Spring/Summer like they do where I live. I think they would both enjoy that. Or something as simple as a walk on the beach at night would be nice too. So far, Yubisaki to Renren isn't that cliched compared to other shoujo manga, so I'm looking forward to how things are gonna work out.

I agree with everything you wrote. Yuki's finally acknowledging that she knows very little about him despite having "known" him since childhood and he's becoming self-aware enough to declare out loud that he wants to be more honest. Though, of course, Yuki has no idea what he's talking about (again, she doesn't know him that well) and so assumes he's had a falling out with a friend at school. I also noticed that while she hopes he doesn't brood about it too much, she doesn't take it upon herself to try and be the one to help him, which would have the cliched route the chapter COULD have taken, but didn't, thank goodness. Let that boy figure himself out and you do you, Yuki! LOL

I'm glad we're finally making progress on the Emma/Shin front. I'm actually not surprised by her reaction to Itsuomi having a girlfriend. After all, the big shock for her was Yuki leaving his apartment in a previous chapter. Maybe she was already waiting for the other shoe to drop and so wasn't surprised to hear the news. Wasn't it mentioned in the past that she'd already stopped contacting him?

And I'm so happy that we FINALLY got a another cute moment between Yuki and Itsuomi, brief though it was! I swear, I've been going through withdrawals! LOL They didn't interact at all in chapter 17 (though I loved that we learned just how serious Itsuomi is about her). Chapter 18 had a brief moment where he encouraged her, but it wasn't particularly romantic. So them finally talking about something relationship-related again gave me the hit I needed! And the possibility that we might get an romance-dedicated chapter next time gives me something to look forward to (can we get another kiss, please??).

Considering it'll probably be the final chapter in what'll become volume 5, it desperately needs some kind of relationship progress between the two of them and it would be the perfect way to end an otherwise conflict-focused volume. I miss the days when the series focused on Yuki/Itsuomi and Rin/Kyouya. It felt so much more cozy back then!

Some predictions I have for the future:

1.) I think Yuki will eventually trust Itsuomi enough to speak in front of him. She can do it, but she's self-conscious about her voice. However, him telling her he thought her laugh was cute in a previous chapter as well her frustration over not being able to communicate well in the dark in this chapter might just lead her to dropping her guard. Though, I mean, they could have just whipped out their phones to talk, but whatever. LOL I'd just love for her to have the confidence to use her voice if she wants/needs to.

2.) I think that Yuki's first trip abroad might be to Germany to meet Itsuomi's family, and his best friend there. I wonder if the thing he wanted to talk to her about in this chapter had something to do with that? Or if not Germany, then maybe travel plans in general. Germany just seems like the most relevant place for them to go, plot-wise.

Why do I feel like Yuki pushing Oushi to be more honest with himself is gonna spur him on to confess lol. But either way doesn't matter because he made it clear he only has Yuki's best interests in mind so he won't interfere (unless some out of nowhere drama appear)

but hnnnnng Yuki having to hold herself back from seeing itsuomi was just too much lmao, but I'm glad he managed to meet her at the end. ngl wasn't expecting the literal night to act like a cockblock but it does make sense how that could cause an issue. looking forward to the upcoming date (and what itsuomi has in store, time to turn this into a smut manga huehuehuehuehue)

though it's nice to see another couple on the horizon with Shin x Emma. Here's hoping Emma learns to quickly move on from itsuomi, but one can only hope lol

Yuki is so fucking precious man.
Shin finally confessing to Emma and Emma taking the heartbreak like a champ. She didn't cry or throw a tantrum, or any other cliche route of "If i can't have him noone can." She listened to everything Shin said. And the wording during his confessing OML you can do better my guy.
Oushi will probably confess in about 5 chapters or so. I so want him to be a decent guy later on. Not like that cliche troupe of I'll bother your relationship until there's a fracture I can take advantage of.
Your life to come is bound to make you smile

Where do I start....I read this at night....so (o_o)
Im happy with the pep talk that Yuki gave to Oushi, now it's up to him whether he just wants to confess and accept the fact that she is happy with itsoumi, or he'll play that annoying male side character that's just waiting for the girl to get hurt to swoop in and be the "hero" 🙄 I hope he leaves her alone cause the more I read the more I realize that a lot of the insecurities she has may have come from Oushi. It's so easy for him to just insult her sometimes, that Yuki is confused as well.
Moving on...
Yuki's girlboss era has arrived, her working is so cute and I'm happy that there is someone to use sign language with her. She seems so comfortable there, it's really nice.
Ok now moving on to Emma. Im happy she took it so well; we still don't know the background story of Itsoumi and Emma, so we don't really know the intensity of the crush yet. But I already know that Shin and Emma are gonna get together considering she didn't look mad when Shin confessed, she actually looked hopeful ngl 🤷‍♀️
Finally, (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ NAWT the Romeo & Juliet balcony scene 👀
The way i let out a weird weird weird noise when Itsoumi appeared (-_-) very concerning. Anyways im so happy he came to see her, we needed some sort of interaction to wrap this chapter up. Also the advice Itsoumi gave to her was so good; he obv does not want her to become a workaholic so she can travel with him, he wants her to enjoys the moments they have together in the moment.
I cant wait for the next chapter and what kind of date theyre gonna plan.
Also with that ending are we about to get another kiss question mark. 🤔

I was about to throw hands if Emma reacted poorly about Itsu's relationship. But I was surprised that she took it very well. I hope she no longer has any feelings for Itsu though...
Yuki moments with Itsu were so cute! No one's going to talk about how she wanted to see his face and he's like telling her to "drink it in" with his tongue lick like that? >//<. Not sure if that's some sort of weird translation from the manga/book, but I find that part weird but steamy af.
