He light novel cuts some bits out I’m pretty sure, while the web novel covers everything(Don’t quote me on that)😭

At some point the Light Novel diverges from the Web Novel. Same-ish plot but the light novel is the streamlined version that the anime is adapting.

Read the WN first and then the LN. It'll be a whole lot fun if you do this. LN's story differs slight from the WN.

I would do the web novel. Currently I’m reading the mushoku tensei web novel instead of the light novel because it’s cheaper but more importantly because they’re slightly different. Both tensura and mushoku adapt the light novel so if you read the LN you’re just going to see the story but animation with less content, if there’s an option for more content that’s different that what the anime will be adapting then I think that the best route enjoyment wise. Plus the tensura web novel is either done or very close while the light novel isn’t close.

"WN is just a worse written, longer version of the LN" is true most of the time, but not for slime. While it's true for the first few volumes, the LN actually starts adding completely new chapters really early on, to the point that, while some plot points are still the same, it's pretty much a completely different story from where Season 2 will end onwards.

This is only second hand info though, as I've only read the first few WN chapters and all the LN volumes currently available in English. The author does mention adding stuff a lot in the Afterword of each Volume though. Most people would just recommend you read the Light Novel as it's just better.

Read what ever is easier to access if there’s no fan translations of the LN and you don’t have enough to buy the LN physical or digital read the WN but the LN is different to compared to it.

Or find a place to read the manga until mangadex is back online
