Aikatsu! Aikatsu!

I think the CG performances look as good as ever, and I love the design for Q-Pit.

I'm not sold on the live action part yet (or why it's necessary), and the animation overall looks a lot cheaper than usual (the Aikatsu Planet world looks like a bunch of cardboard cut out set pieces), but I'll give this a shot.

[Will also be interesting to see if the division of live action vs anime is always 10 min/10 min]

I'm not as bothered by the live action as I thought I'd be. I still miss the classic coord cards and the idol school setting, though. This feely more like a mahou soujou series than an idol show.

Still not a fan of the switch to live action, and the 2d feels like a step down as well compared to the previous series (but lets be real, Aikatsu's 2d was never anything amazing to begin with), feeling a bit more simple than before.
Somehow it felt like it was made for a totally different audience and didnt really give off the Aikatsu feel that i've come used to having binged the original and Stars during the offtime in 2020. (i found the franchise when Friends was airing, so i started from there)
The CG performance however has been improved from even Friends and Parade, which beforehand i wasnt even sure if that was possible, and despite not really liking the show that much so far, i want to continue watching it just for that reason (also AMQ bias). Maybe the live action will grow on me over time, i can't tell yet.

It was ok. Didn’t have a very Aikatsu-esque feel, which can be attributed to both the live action and the Pripara/Prichan premise of a virtual world for idols. The acting felt pretty stilted; which can be expected considering these are mostly new actresses who haven’t done much. Still, what’s good here was good. I like how vibrant Aikatsu Planet feels and the CGI is the best it’s been since OGKatsu finished. They have a potentially interesting plot here with Hana’s secret identity and all the drama that could entail.

I’m cautiously optimistic.

This is my first time I am watching this kind of idol anime.

The plot from first episode it still same (so OP at first) and there is a big change, they don't use cards anymore which is a new thing. Tbh It feels like I watching an VR game.

And also I love Hana with her performance. *IWAE intensifes*

*also I just I wondered how the audience could enter the Aikatsu Planet world without that Aiphone(?)

I mean, I don't really have any strong opinions. It was a pretty comfy watch?
