I'm grateful for Akudama Drive referencing movies in the episode titles. I discovered several films I haven't seen yet, and they all seem good! I'm excited to watch them soon!

I went to give a score and find a fucking 7.59, 7.59!!

And the criticisms I read are that they ask the series that no one dies, that "swindler" and "messenger" had to have arrived with the children, bought a house somewhere else and a happy ending. That's not counting those who haven't understood anything and you have the perfect cocktail to make me mad.

You take the "average otaku," pull them out of a shitty isekai, and they are lost. Pretend to make the "akudama" look like heroes. The same protagonist saying that she doesn't know how she arrived alive, with a broken leg, and I almost see that they are asking her to have some ability that she has NEVER had, just because they call her a "swindler." According to these people, if I believe I am a shark because people call me that, can I swim while breathing underwater and have fins? absurd.

Those who give it a pitiful score because characters they like die... hello? are you 5 years old?

I can understand some criticism, the pacing... has been rushed (not for me, a matter of taste) like "why does the hacker send them back to Kansai?" (There may be an explanation, such as it is the only way out of Kanto, the only possible way.) It is one of those series that serve as an example to show that democracy does NOT work.

Solid 9/10.

Say what you want, but this was one helluva binge watch for me. Once I started I couldn't stop. If it wasn't for Christmas, company and work, I would have finished this in a matter of hours.

I loved the plot, characters and the curve balls thrown in the scenarios. I didn't like the ending, but I was impressed by the execution (literally).

I highly recommend this anime.

it's decent overall. normally it'd be 7/10 for me but when the market's filled to the brim with braindead hyped-to-hell-and-back deplorably mediocre shows like Kimetsu no Yaiba, anime with some substance are difficult to come by. therefore I'd give an adjusted score of 8

courier really gave everything he had, I was screaming for him to use his metal arm and he did, it seems it was a blessing that he got it shot so many years ago and how tf did he get a bike like that, not even the gov had so much firepower, I was planning on giving it a 7 but this final episode made me give it an 8/10, swindler really earnt her title by fooling the whole city too and her presentation animation was a really nice touch, great show with amazing characters

@deg I'm guessing that if every episode was named after a movie, I assume that something in "The Shining" is referenced

Damn what a brilliant ending. Swindler letting herself die and swindle the people by showing the whole Kansai people that The Executioners are the real Akudama. What's funny is that Swindler was finished off by an Executioner by the cemented cross. This episode airs on Christmas Eve so that's why it's really timely for them to do so. And look at that, the people brought a second protest and this time much larger and much fiercer than the first.

Using as an escape, Courier made a tower collapse for them to escape Shikoku. But since he is also running out of life, he then stall the big airships that is chasing down our Immortal Siblings. Also Hacker pulled out a gut punch move and pretty much rekt all of Kansai of its electrical power. And since we don't know what might've happened next, I guess Kansai fell into inevitable anarchy and the remaining Executioners are in hiding for their dear lives.

Onii-chan and Imouto managed to escape after Courier dies on the desert. And wow an open ending, really Pierrot? I was kinda OK with that ending since they showed off that Kanto is pretty much a supercomputer so guessing Shikoku is no brainer for me.

Overall, the show was pretty great in the first half. Dipped so much on the latter half and manages to save itself with a very passable and bombastic ending. I'm between in a 7 or 8 on this, kinda good but almost an original masterpiece. The animation and art was really fantastic yet the story and pacing brought it down.

@raiderublaze The chief shot himself so there is no legal way for the executioners to fight back as he is the only one that can label anyone as an Akudama. The executioners are likely in hiding till Kanto does something

I was expecting a cyberpunk substitute but instead I got something completely different, I mean that in a good way, every shot is beautifully painted, it often looks more like a movie, the story is done very well it has its flaws but that's just a small flaw on an otherwise good piece, this anime is only one viewing, when you see it you will understand but it's definitely worth your time

A very open and debatable ending. A fun ride overall. Rushed but did not disappoint much. A good 8/10.
