| Elaina finds herself in a place occupied with different versions of herself. Amongst them is the Violent Me, whom Elaina has to take down. I must say, this was a bizarre way to end a show. So many Elaina's, my head is beginning to hurt. Well done to the seiyuu for voicing every one of them (although some didn't need that much effort, honestly). It's nice to see her kind of get things off her chest and actually have someone to talk to about her issues. This has been a somewhat enjoyable, relaxing series to watch, with some shocking and dark surprises mixed in. The last 3 eps tho, after episode 9, kinda felt forced to me and were a bit boring. I think I'll miss Elaina's character the most (the Protagonist Me version). Overall, a pretty decent but average show. |

| Overall it was an interesting series.. Not everyday I watch something like this.. I think that majorly anime gave me feel of a dark fairy tail, I guess.. Well, if fairy tales usually end up well.. Stories in this anime showed many of the not so bright ends.. Showed adventuring maybe not in the brightest way.. Sure, Elaina still enjoys travels, as she says.. But why she does that, if she experiences all kind of these things?.. At the end of the day, I guess, she manages to stay neutral.. Forget about these things.. Or think that that's how world is, where people indeed do all kind of things to each other.. |
| so many Elaina, 17 total including the violent one. laughed so hard at the greedy Elaina saying "at least spare the money" lool do these Elaina come from different timelines? So there's a timeline where she fell in love with Saya for real. And another timeline where she became gay. Amnecia new character. Looks like hope for season 2! and damn.. because of this episode.. I'm gonna buy the 130 dollar Elaina figure... >< thank you for the good times Elaina-san. See you again season two. 9/10 |
| edgelord grimdark episodes: 8/10 moeshit episodes: 3-5/10 This episode was somewhere in the middle and a solid 6/10. The anime bullshit (basically all of the parody Elainas) was kind of cringe, but the story and philosophy was engaging. |

| I want to know more about Jelly Elaina. What's her story, how did she react upon being turned into flubber and is she happy about it? Apparently she is in a constant vegetative state... Does no one want to help her? Slime Elaina was a wasted concept and should have had it's own episode dedicated to it purely so the viewer can make fun of Elaina. She needs to be taken down a peg. They call back to the Haircut Horror episode. I maintain that in that episode Elaina should have been struck bald; the curse of having a bob cut and still being beautiful was not really a curse at all, and was really just to show Elaina in a different style. Bald Elaina would have actually been somewhat compelling, and could have actually been a believable motivation for Evil Elana in this episode given how vain we know she is. The one thing I would want out of S2 aside from Slime Elaina would be a focus on deeper and darker fairy tale stories; ones that make you think and aren't just quickly glossed over. I don't like that teaser though. An additional waifu in this show might be too much for me to stomach. |

| Nice way to wrap up the season with it being a retrospective of sorts through the eyes of several versions of herself. Nice that it was more a character story, because her journey just keeps going. It was much like the similarly structured 'road story' format of Spice & Wolf that is easy to leave open for further travels. And like that show, let's get another season please, Elaina is an appealing and frank/blunt heroine. I found her fairly honest about herself in this one, like when she freely acknowledged her greed for raw currency, that was a laugh riot! |

| Damn this new country not looking very inviting. Ok nevermind it's a funny episode. I can't complain though. The different personalities were funny. The chuuni one made me lol. That got surprisingly heartfelt at the end. The violent me being the one that never got over the incident at the clock town was heavy. Oh it was all a dream. I should've known better, but kinda lame. Setting up for a season 2 with the new girl by the looks of it. Now we wait... Overall I liked this show. Quite disjointed, but still entertaining and the messages were pretty poignant. |
| At last the final episode of this season, The entrance by itself looked shady and I didn't like the foggy atmosphere here LMFAO all the 15 extra Elaina's are hilarious especially that "big boobed Elaina" that her balloons, Well here comes the edgy Elaina If only this multipersonality Elaina dream would last long but I knew it wouldn't, So this is the Elaina that beared the pain from all the horrifying scenes, But at least our "Protagonist Elaina" calmed her down and hope for the best. Man I love this series and I hope that a second season is inbound I just can't wait for it to get another adaptation the calm yet disturbing stories some episodes bring are just fine like aged wine. |

| I was going to give this episode some credit, because it seemed like it was going for a deeper cut. The idea that every time Elaina made a choice broke off a different potential path and stemmed a new personality was interesting and explained a lot about why Elaina herself is a do nothing. So I was somewhat expecting her to come to terms with herself and perhaps even accepting all these facets of herself. But, it was overall written off as nothing but a dream. I definitely have no intention of watching a second season, I really wasn't even planning to watch this. It just sort of happened. That being said, I'm really torn about what to rate this, as the first 9 episodes were pretty good. But I feel like the last 3 have made me really dislike this series. Even so, the art and animation are still on point, nothing was wrong with the sound, and for an episodic series it wasn't necessarily a bad plot. So from a technical standpoint it's not like it's a 1, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to give it a 1/10. |

| Oh boy, this anime was very hard to get through. It was cute, but that's about it. If Elaina wasn't so self-centered, I would think she's cute. Saya was my favorite. |
| What a great finale. Always wanted to see what happens if Elaina fell to despair and I guess this episode showed almost all possibilities to each ep. Glad to see a new character, Amnesia, at the end. Hoping for a second season!! |

| When your final episode has the main character call herself out on what she's done on her travels...it really speaks volumes of itself. This series started off strong, but Elaina honestly just grew to become more and more annoying as the series continued. It ends with her meeting Amnesia, which is ironic as I want to forget about this series. |

| God-awful finale to a show that ended up being pretty damn bad apart from the excellent episode 4. Elaina is one of the most unlikeable protagonists I have ever encountered, and the inconsistencies of when she decided to involve herself and when she didn't only made it worse. Also, I seriously resent the fact that the only Elaina who cared about others and was affected by their suffering was framed as the antagonist in this episode, when in reality the Elaina we've followed throughout this series would make a much better antagonist. And did she really learn anything from this? No chance, given how any other big moments like this that should have impacted her were instantly forgotten by the next episode and she instantly went back to incredibly smug and narcissistic. Oh, and fuck Saya. Absolutely awful side-character that should have been discarded from the series after episode 2. One of the worst "travelogue" series I've ever had the mispleasure of watching, even worse than the sadly-disappointing 2017 remake of Kino's Journey. |

| It was fine. Some episodes were good some where not. It had ups and downs, the episodic approach ruined much potential also the development was lacking so was the plot and execution. |

| To the few (if any) people who are reading this thread years after the show has already ended: how did you interpret this episode? I read some discussion from novel fans that the multiple Elainas are meant to be interpreted as being from alternate universes/timelines, which is really weird to me because I see this in a completely different way: the other Elainas are representations of how Elaina self-identifies, consciously or otherwise. The battle with her violent self and the aftermath is her coming to terms with the trauma she has been burying since episode 3. I like this reading because complaints I see about her character are mostly the seeming apathy to the suffering around her. Putting aside the morality of her actions (I dont think she was wrong in anything she did throughout the show), I hate when the lack of a visible emotional response is used as a knock against her. Despite her lackadaisical attitude, her state-of-mind always seemed closer to "Getting involved past this point could bring more harm than good" rather than "I'm bored and don't care" when walking away from problems. Anyway, I'm glad to have finally watched this show but also disappointed that there hasnt been any news of a sequel even now. |

| Is it just me, or did Elaina totally bang Violent Me?!? It's hilarious that she is actually into girls, but rejects Saya because she prefers herself. I enjoyed this lovable airhead. Also, someone pls explain the lore of Violent Me. Which timeline is she from? |

| Very disappointing show all around. No real explanation for the system or workings and rules ot the magic of the shows world, a shaky progression system where, apparently some but very few men can kinda use magic, but its never completely touched upon, no real direction for the show at all, and worst of all...NO SPOOKY! All the chances they had for some decent spooky elements, and...just...whole show was a stretch....stretched too thinly for me. 3/10 OH POST SCRIPT...I dont even recall any of the supposed profanity that gave this its rating, and there was really only one scene in one episode where there was a bit of ok gore...what a waste for halloween time T<T |
| Haha more eccentric Elaina's, one was already enough in my opinion. The comedy was great in my opinion, the drama was always badly executed and kind of forced inside a lighthearted story. The show was more or less flying around aimlessly, generally it was a nice idea for an anime, but the authors weren't skilled enough to make the story interesting or connected as a whole, They wanted to show different aspects of the world, but failed at making a connection between them. The good points were the pretty animation style, likeable characters (except Elaina), good comedy and a truly beautiful opening theme Literature (リテラチュア) by Reina Ueda |
