----------------------------------------
Another weekly episode of King's Avatar 2 (Quanzhi Gaoshou 2) came out today.
This anime is produced by Tencent in China. It has received great reviews compared to Tencent's other anime.

Ye Qiu is making money off a guild's side accounts. It was a pretty amusing episode. Also, the Excellent Era wishes to recruit him again. But he wants to bring Su Mucheng (Dancing Rain) with him. More information about Su Mucheng can be found in the King's Avatar Movie.

Seeing the flashback of the original season 1 Excellent Era team made me go back and watch the movie. Really unfortunate how much the owner of Excellent Era changed after making some money.

“You could have had a perfect ending.”

Tao, YOU should be the one who could’ve had a perfect ending, Excellent era could’ve had a perfect ending😔

It feels like every episode I see is becoming my new favorite episode of the season. But this one is up there as a contender for my favorite episode overall.
  • I wasn't expecting them to keep the Mo Qiang bit as it's largely inconsequential, but I'm glad they did since it was hilarious and didn't take up too much time.
  • Something that I don't think they explained very well is how the league works. Basically, throughout the entire year, all 20 teams play against every other team twice to make 38 games per team. At the end of the season, instead of counting wins, they count how many points they've gotten from all of their matches. That's why teams still try to win the 1v1 and 3v3 rounds when the 5v5 accounts for half the available points in a match. That's also why the announcers mentioned that Samsara is catching up to Blue Rain, who's currently the first place team. At the end of each season, the top 8 teams go into the playoffs, which is a best of 3 single elimination tournament. Meanwhile, the bottom 2 teams are eliminated from the league, which is where Excellent Era is now.
  • The music in this episode was great.
  • I absolutely loved the Ye Xiu/Tao Xuan conversation. The action scenes (notably Ye Xiu vs Du Ming from the OVA) was what got me into the series, but it's moments like this scene that got me to stay and it's the reason I don't mind the more spotty animation from seasons 1 and 2.
  • To all the shippers out there, I hope you enjoyed that one comment by Tao Xuan about Mucheng being jealous of Ye Xiu living with Chen Guo; that's about as much romance as this series will have.
  • The flashback and references to the movie and the team's early years was fantastic. In the web novel, this would've been the first time we get introduced to Tao Xuan and we wouldn't know the significance of Dancing Rain to Ye Xiu for another 100 chapters. Glad we got context for both beforehand since it makes it all the more meaningful.
  • Tao Xuan is actually right: the game has changed and is more about seeing memorable performances than it is about just being good. Despite Tao Xuan being the one to say it, I like how the series doesn't take a stance on whether that's bad or not. Sure, Ye Xiu prefers the old way, but people like Huang Shaotian, Zhou Zekai, and even Mucheng have all benefited from the shift to marketability and personality, yet none of them are portrayed negatively.
  • Interesting preview for episode 8. It almost reveals too much, but I guess the big thing was already spoiled by the OP and ED.
  • Cool to see Chen Guo using her new cannon (with its color changed to match her character).
  • Can't wait to see Yifan next episode since we've seen very little of him since the OVA. If it wasn't for them rewriting the Thousand Waves Lake arc to include him, that probably would've been his first appearance this season.
After last episode, I wasn't looking forward to this one as much. Episode 6 was great, but it felt like a good stopping point with Ye Xiu getting his first major conflict with Sun Xiang. Glad this episode could get me pumped for the second half of the season. In general, I just can't say enough good things about this episode, I could talk about all the things I liked about it for hours.

Ye Xiu getting up to some get rich quick schemes in order to acquire more materials.

I'm glad I watched the movie a few weeks ago, so I got the context of the early days of Excellent Era.

Getting attacked the moment you log in... that's just low.

Judging from the preview, things will get a lot more interesting.

Great animation art work as usual! The plot gets more interesting with old "friends" coming back into the mix.

Tao makes the deal with him saying they were old friends but why did he get rid of YeXiu in such a bad manner in the first place

He feels that Ye Xiu is not with the time, that because of his insistence of remaining anonymous the team is losing money (which is true since the team lost a lot advertising offer and sponsors despite them winning 3 championship in a row). Not to mention all of his newer teammates except Mucheng hates him for different reasons and Ye Xiu getting older, so he decide to concoct a plan to kick him out of the team by tanking the team's tournament results. This is the basic gist of it anyway, the rest will be explored (hopefully) in future episodes or if you want read the source material.

It's really fun to watch the bitches from Excellent Era suffer.

Ye Xiu's taking dancing rain, is he gonna give it to GuoGuo or Mucheng's gonna join them? I hope it's the latter.

So many good moments in this episode, and was that Huang Shaotian in the original setup of Excellent Era? I guess that I won't be able to put off watching the movie any longer.

Lol, Ye Xiu outsmarted the bounties placed on his account and others, in the end, he got a good bunch of money to buy materials.

Meanwhile, Excellent Era is being utterly crushed by its rival competitor, what was once the greatest Glory eSports team in China is now nothing more than a bunch of overpromising individuals.

this episode confuse me a little bit. what's the deal they discuss before the boss leave? Ye Xiu ask Dancing Rain account, what does it mean?

also, it look like this "boss" didn't know that Ye Xiu has been forced to leave by the manager, isn't he? because that deep conversation is like telling us he only know Ye Xiu retired voluntary.

I always find it funny how he just lives across the Autumn Leaf building

And the boss from Autumn Leaf has completely lost himself, he’s not the same person he was before

He picked Dancing Rain 😭 for those who watched the movie know why he chosee it.

So, I thought I understood the bounty scheme. Ye Xiu would sacrifice all his levels for kills (because you lose levels when you're killed, apparently? I don't remember this, is that new?), then would use a fraction of the bounty money to buy a pre-leveled Unspecialized account and do some minimal work to get back to where he was previously, plus a pile of cash.

The exact quote (at 3:02):
"500 bucks for one kill. One level down for five kills. Level one is 2500 yuan (poor translation of "2500 yuan earned per level", I assume) A full level account will have 70 levels. That is 175,000 bucks"
"I can transfer my items to another Unspecialized account. Lord Grim is then nothing but an empty account worth 175,000 bucks."

Ignoring the mistake that Grim's account isn't actually level 70, it otherwise seems clearly laid out.

I was curious how they'd get around the loss of A) the Lord Grim name, B) any achievements/titles/whatever other earned stats he had, and C) his massive undefeated PvP record.

Instead, they just...have him keep all his levels and his account? What happened? Did they forget that he was supposed to lose all his levels or his account? They literally just said it earlier in the episode!
