| Okay y'all. I'm on episode 5 and I'm enjoying it very much but I am BAFFLED. So Natsume and Kuranai are human, how many other fighters are human? Do humans in the tank know that there's a whole robot world living in MUCH nicer quarters on the same mobile unit??? Are Gears code for Robots? or is that what they call fighters??? This is the first anime I've watched where I can't get a grasp of their 'basic' concepts and I'm going crazy!! I feel like the battles are losing their significance because if Gears die in battle they're only playing a "VR" game and especially in episode 5 where it's a losing battle... how can the robots knowingly let humans in the tank go fight if almost everyone will die??? Other than being taken apart for breaking the rules like we've seen...do the Gears suffer any repercussions from dying in their VR game??? If the Gears/Robots are creating the gadoll for their video game DO THEY NOT CARE THAT TANKERS ARE DYING SO THEY CAN PLAY A GAME?!?!?!?!? AAAAHHHH Does Natsume know that Kaburagi is a robot? Do humans care that robots fight alongside them in human forms??? Whenever he goes out to fight I don't care if he dies? But I'm super worried for any humans in the fight... Can someone shed some light on this for me please! Please don't spoil me :D Thank you! |

Well, I'd assume they know that gears have separate quarters, since they can see how they're using this elevator and coming down to the human quarters. Like I said, they know about gears obviously, but they don't know that they're avatars controlled by cyborgs. Humans are basically NPCs in this whole game. They don't know that they're a part of the game and the entire system. They think that everything around them is "real," they think that gears are dying in the battles for real (when they're not), they don't know that they have chips inside their bodies and are monitored, they don't know that gadolls are created by the corporation etc. Aerchan said: how can the robots knowingly let humans in the tank go fight if almost everyone will die??? I think they let humans fight with gadolls, because they're excited that NPCs can actually fight, and for them it's just an "extra feature" for the game. They're kinda like "whatever, if they want to fight we will let them fight, most of them are going to die anyway." It's not like humans fighting gadolls can change anything. Even if some of them end up being stronger and better in fighting, they will be considered as a threat to the system, so the corporation can always set up an event in which most of humans will die like in ep 5, and there will no longer be any threat. No matter what humans do, they're always controlled by the system - and the worst part is that they don't even know it. That's why Kaburagi told Natsume that there will never be any peace, and the fight will never end. Maybe you should rewatch the show for better understanding, lol. |
