This episode left me pretty emotional. Frenda might have been a side character, but she was shown be a good person at heart. I'll definitely never forgive Mugino, and it was one of the worst part of Index III when they tried to redeem her character.
How is a character that takes joy at seeing people despair as they die "a good person at heart"?

Mugino is ten times better because at least she had a redemption arc. Frenda happened to be at the right place at the right time for of her better qualities to surface.

Because Frenda is shown to actually care about the people close to her. She cares about her sister, she decides to stay and help Saten, endangering her own life, despite knowing she could easily abandon her. Even when gives ITEMs location away, it's because she's desperate and doesn't see a way to live otherwise. Frenda is not a hero, but she has heroic traits.

Mugino kills her ally as a form of punishment. Frenda

Caring about family isnt a heroic trait. Being swept by the moment isnt heroic either.

Good people can do bad deeds, evil people can do good deeds.

Mugino killed Frenda because she almost died cause of Frenda's betrayal. And Frenda doesnt even need someone like Kakine to threaten her to spill the beans. As we saw in Railgun S, she will betray ALL of her comrades as soon as she is cornered. From a radical Mugino's perspective Frenda no longer was an ally and almost killed her. You talk about punishment as if Frenda messed up Mugino's coffee order and didnt almost kill her.

Frenda enjoys killing people. Even Accelerator who has killed far more than she has knows that this is one of the worst things one can do and even his attitude is a mask to scare the enemies.

Mugino, especially back then, is quick to lose it and kill someone but she doesnt get excited from killing random people who happened to be her enemies.

If Frenda wasnt cute and loli-like but some dude then nobody would care about her death.

Absolutely insane episode, the fight was brutal!
Loving the attention the other characters are getting aswell.

Kinda surprised "Sniper" made it out alive, I thought there'd be no way to survive the blast or hell ... even the fall.

This season of Railgun has felt a bit mixed for me and uneven narratively, but there are particular episodes that just deliver massively into making me feel like this season is not a disappointment or mediocre. This episode was one of them. Fair play to the author and the studio for taking a random side character who was a villain in the Sisters Arc, and just for a short while, having her friend with Saten with just mackerel and then have a pretty fast paced and epic little fight with a sniper in Yumiya, even if its sort of in vain since Yumiya did somehow survive although she experienced a ton of damage, especially to her face and vocal chords. Pretty great stuff, and like the Kuroko stuff with Miyama, the short little subarcs are great but the overall arc with Indian Poker and Dream Ranker so far has been a bit lackluster. Hopefully these last 5 episodes can change that since in patches, it's been exciting but only in patches.

Well.. I guess, Saten and Frenda are from different worlds, after all.. So maybe that's why she didn't show up in the end.. Maybe it's for the better.. Saten still has her own friends.. And Frenda leads her own life how she wants..

There were three things I did not like about that sniper girl.
1. How did she shoot them? I thought it was her ability, but it was "just" a hidden rifle. She literally shot them from places she should not have been able to.
2. How was she keeping up with them? They were running while she was just walking the whole time and still caught up every time.
3. How did she not die from that explosion? All she got left with was a face injury? Her whole body should've been blown to pieces.

1. Hidden sniper rifles, not rifle. They can be disassembled and assembled by arm movement. What comes out of the sleeves is Carbon Dioxide used to fire the bullets. Left arm for long range, right arm for short range.
2. She's clairscent, as shown in the anime. As long they are confined within the building, she can literally sniff them out without hurrying.
3. It pretty much happened outside the audience PoV of Rakko. You can call it Rakko's luck, but she gets killed by ITEM before Battle Royale Arc anyways.

1. That's not what I meant, I understood that with the carbon dioxide and the siper rifle. But to me it looked like she was able to him them despite not even seeing them. Like after the first shot when theys started running, hid behind a corner and tried to call Mugino. Suddenly her phone got shot, but the sniper did not run to catch up to shoot them there.
2. But then why didn't they just straight run to Mugino? If they ran at full speed, she would never have caught up with them.
3. Is that a spoiler? Looks like a spoiler to me xD Anyway I don't like when they just offscreen stuff like that, there is no explanation why she survives bombs detonating in her mouth.

Thanks for the explanations though :3

1. Dunno, check the manga chapters (after 80 iirc) if you are too interested. They seemed convincing
2. No they can't risk it outside where they can be shot easily, especially when there are less people to blend into
3. Not a spoiler. Index III had a convo where Mugino said they have dealt with the previous SCHOOL sniper.

1. Not a manga reader, so I guess I'll just accept that there's no explanation.
2. But if they just would've made a few turns, she already would not have a line of sight anymore. Seemed more like plot convenience for me.
3. Ah I see, I did not remember much about Index III apparently xD

1. Fine. I won't waste my time by watching the scene to ruin your accomplishment of thinking that there's no explanation.
2. Bruh, what I gave was an answer, not an argument. Frenda was already hit, she doesn't know what is the line of sight of the attacker - all she knows is that higher population density will increase her survival chances and protecting an amateur like Saten.
3. Np. I mean you don't even know the protagonists of Index, so this is nothing.

I'm not sure when this ep takes place in the index storyline. But at the end I was thinking Frenda prob cut it off to keep Saten safe and away. But also I remembered, oh =/=

That's why you should go out and have a life. Otherwise it's really easy to become someone as similar as that pretentious and delusional sniper bitch. Cool fight though, but hey you expect people to die after such "horror" accidents lol.

Also we know why Saten never got a chance to have a meal with Frenda again. Small details but we knew it was coming. And hey that Uiharu's fractured arm too.. plenty happened within that week. Glad to remember then what Accelerator did with Kakine.

The fights are so much better here in Railgun, and it's also animated so well too.
Aw, that ending of Saten waiting for Frenda was sad to see. They had a budding friendship, and Frenda died just like that. It would've made more sense if Rakko killed Frenda instead of Mugino.
