Overall, I thought it was a good movie, but the writing was a bit weak. A younger child (the target audience) probably wouldn't be able to piece these things together, however, a younger child probably wouldn't care to, either.

That said, the post brings up some good points, but some are fairly easy to infer if you paid attention.

#1 - Haru being so easily manipulated was pretty stupid, but his character was always one to be quick at reacting and not thinking things through first--Yu even says this ver batem several times. The villain just took advantage of his glaring character flaw.

#2 - Nobody ever says that two connected people can't be in the same world at once, but that only Wayfarers can travel between worlds. Since Yu is a Wayfarer and Yu and Haru are connected, Haru has the ability to warp with him.

#3 - If you watch the scenes, the villain never does anything except speak to Haru. Being that he is a royal magician, it's perfectly reasonable for him to be able to conjure up an illusion to continue to push Haru along with his plan while being elsewhere.

#4 - There's not much to argue on this, but if you remember the three "healers" that died didn't look much like their human counterparts either. Just because they're linked, doesn't mean they look identical.

#5 and #6 - These are probably the only ones that don't have a good explanation. Yu was able to warp over because he's the Wayfarer, but as to why he's disabled and why his backstory was a plane crash is a strange decision for sure. Same goes for how he's able to walk suddenly upon returning to the other world.

As for the questions (in order):
-The pink thing was likely Oliver's familiar. Since Yu was also a Wayfarer, it followed him around until his master appears at the end.
-Yu and Haru are connected, so it's likely he'll be the only one to never forget Yu.
-They were always together when Yu teleported.
-The old man is Oliver, the protagonist of the first game. Since he's worthy of the sword, he was chosen by it after it left it's old master (the previous king) due to his misuse of its power. He likely has trouble opening the gate because he's not as powerful as he used to be (old age will do that).
-If assassin monsters can slip between the worlds, why shouldn't he be trying to keep the gateway closed?
-People don't always age that much in 10 years. Some people look the same for over a decade, some age poorly.
-Possibly, but a lot of the Ghibli characters look similar when you look closely. Ni no Kuni was heavily influenced by Ghibli works (they did some cinematics for the game), so it's not surprising if they bear similarities, especially since the director is from Studio Ghibli.
