From my understanding that this is going to try to follow the original light novels more closely (the older manga adaptations were a bit truer to the source, too, but it also has some difference with the novels, judging from what I've read of both of them). What the 90's anime did was basically take the Bloody August arc and stretched, added, and altered things so it'd be its stand alone adventure. As for Azalie, Orphen considered her his figurative (not literal) sister in both anime adaptations since they came from the same orphanage, IIRC. Either way, she wasn't technically his love interest, regardless of how some people wanted it to go. That honor would go to Claiomh/Cleo. |
| LOL... I forgot about this series and didn't watch it since episode 1... too many stuff going on recently... But I didn't know this series was a reboot of a 1998 series... (I only started watching anime in late 1999, or more like 2000 when I realized there were episode line... thought anime was just random oneshots per episode like most American Cartoon where every episode can be a standalone episode... lol) At episode 3 atm, but I recognized some comedy that was in older anime, since newer anime never uses those comedy style anymore. Interesting plot twists they got going... ___ ___ ___ Also, looking through episode threads... looks like this reboot is getting same treatment as DBZ/ DBZ Kai... or Full Metal Alchemist/ Brotherhood Where they're removing some fillers and keeping it more closely to the original source. I guess that's why this series is only listed as 13 episode, while the 1998 was 24 episode. (excluding the sequal) |

| @amlg I'm almost 5 years late to this, but here's my 2 cents anyway: the original light novel series ran for 20 volumes, that's more than enough for 100+ episodes, but we got less than half, so while there's no filler, they rushed the shit out of the story while keeping a bad direction with mediocre animation. |
