After watching this movie, I feel sad.
Lelouch is undoubtedly my most favorite male anime character of all time. Seeing the curtain close and the story end makes me feel empty inside.
Does anyone feel the same?

The ending leaves room for a potential sequel and since they were willing to ruin the original ending for some extra money i see no reason for them to not make a 3rd season. The director also said that if the movie does good they would consider a continuation.

I’d prefer to stick with the S2 ending. No need to watch a continuation of a perfect ending.

Yeah, i felt empty inside because they did CC x Lelouch, instead of Kallen x Lelouch. :)))

I hope they never make a sequel to R2. Lelouch needs to stay dead. This is not Prison Break.

Well, he was alive at the end... if you mean retired, yes totally. He knew full well that the world would not be perfect after his "death" and gave the mantle to Suzaku to keep peace going, the man should get a well deserved retirement for pete's sake.

The show got laughable near the end this is just even more laughable. I can relate i feel empty inside since every emotion i could have bursted out with a big laugh at the end of this movie.

I am not sure if i am able to survive the 10 year plan ;/

He is ded at the end of the show or not, you can decide....

This movie is a sequel to the recap films where some shit got changed including the proof that lelouch is alive.

They are 2 endings now, brilliant move, if one liked the series but the movies sucked they still have a full ending.

Well, it always comes down to it, if you want to believe it or not, still here's the uncut ending

Holy Scheiße: The Holy and The Scheiße: The Milking Never Stops.

At least C.C.'s holy and sacred fictional existence graced this world once again. And Lelouch, meh, couldn't care less. He's too emotionaly-driven for my liking. He's too skinny too be husbando. And man they've literally put him on a wife dress on a official art. That's enough to drive me away from liking him. He's iconic and interesting, but just not to me.

End of topic. ;)

I dunno
I think this movie could've been way way worse.
I used to adore Code Geass, then I rewatched it, realized how garbage some of its writing was and... This movie is a solid continuation of that.
It's the same, old, Code Geass, where the only reason for plot to happens is because the writers want it, the pacing is ridiculous and everything is just completely devoid of logic as a whole.

Personally, I still couldn't really bring myself to hate this movie. As much as its an obvious cash grab, it still was executed rather well.

Do I feel "empty" inside after finishing it? Not really, but, surprisingly, this movie actually made me appreciate Code Geass more than I had prior to watching it, which is quite an accomplishment in itself.

Rather than empty, I'm somewhat disappointed tbh

Pretty enjoyable as far as fanservice goes

But the whole plot is kinda meh and the movie as a whole felt rather rushed imo

Already made my point in the main discussion, but I think I'd rather stick with R2 as the cannon ending ty

Some bullet points of my thoughts on the movie:

  • Yay!: LL+CC is a thing! Seeing the characters again! Ohgi and Viletta have a baby! Orange serving oranges then planting oranges in an orange plantation lmao. Sasuga Sunrise's mechs as usual
  • Okay?: Shirley's alive how? She still got cucked tho along with Karen tho lol. Sequels are possible I guess judging by the post credit scene
  • Huh?: Villain's backstory can be explored/explained further. Who are some the people there tho like the Indian kids, spin-off chars?
  • Meh: Pacing most of the time. The geass lore got muddled even more. The 4D chess against Queen Subaru felt like an asspull

Recaps - they hadn't time to make it properly so they omitted Rolo stuff and kept Shirley alive, R2 vel TV series is done since 2008 and Lelouch is dead in TV, simple. That's why Fukkatsu is a sequel to the recaps.

e, + Shirley sent letter to CC

I was CC x Lelouch from the start we won this fight. I agree with most people that S2 was the perfect ending. But I still want to see more Code Geass it doesn't ruin S2 for me it's been many years I have been rewatching Code Geass many times I need something new.

yea,i even feel worried kallen will get taken away by the blonde knight,i mean she's very obvious with her feeling, even lelouch n C.C knew that
must be because of that Lelouch x CC shippers, the creators had to go with majority, damn

Giving 9 rating because of the last scene between C.C & Lelouch, when LELOUCH proposes to Cute Great Grandma "CC". Both of them have already kissed each other in the previous season (though for a different reason), so i was satisfied just with their conversation. When i remind of "Code Geass", "GREEN" colour comes to my mind. That made me very happy for C.C. Overall great movie.

I actually am satisfied with the ending where LELOUCH proposes CC (C2). From the very beginning of the show, i was concerned about CC. So, i'm not completely empty.

BTW, Emilia-tan is my favourite character from REZERO.

I truly believe they are referring to what happens during on screen events, kinda obvious if you ask me. The real question is what happened to Lelouch AFTER Code Geass, the creators have already said his fate is all this ambiguous stuff.

Or maybe the twitters are just too old, who knows...

These tweets were made not that long ago, 3, maybe 2 years ago? I forgot tbh.

After? He has been resurrected by CC and she took care of him for a year, meanwhile they gone beacuse of traveling stuff, simple and that's all.

Rather empty I fill pretty good. Well, it wasn't perfect movie but it wasn't bad either. I don't know how could they continue it. But I think this should be the end. The good end that many of us wanted, and the ones that were good with the dead end, they had the E2 ending. So thats it. We have two perfect ending.

The Movie ending was changed because obviously the show ending was meant to put after the 4th movie. IF you look at the cloths and the stuffed animal that C.C. is carrying with her at the R2 show ending, then you realize it's the same dress and stuffed animal that she has when she leaves the village with L.L.
I figure that they are on a escape route in the end of R2. But it's obvious that the scene of C.C. laying on the carriage and him driving the carriage is set after the movie, which makes total sense, since he needed to be selfaware again and not a walking potato to do so.

I feel the same. I really liked the S2 end, for me it's the best and the most epic end in Anime history but, I don't mind if there is a sequel. I don't mind if Sunrise would make Code Geass like a new Gundam series (even If I'm not completely satisfied with that Movie's end, but still want more of Code Geass) cuz I really love this series and sad to see its end.

There is no way to feel empty inside with this movie, only if you are disappointed, which you shouldn't since it is a mistake to hype this movie as fan of the original.

The movie also doesn't have enough time to properly develop everything and make you care that you would feel empty inside about it.

CCxLelouch is the only right pairing tbh, tons of set up existed in the first two seasons.

And this is kind of like Prison Break now, both characters have been "resurrected" with unnecessary (but not bad) sequels
