every episode makes me wonder which one is my favorite girl on this series, i always liked all of them but not sure who i like more lol
if anything every episode makes me question that ... i used to like Uruka just a little more than the others on season 1... 3 or 4 episodes ago, i thought sensei had taken over, and after these 2 episodes, i probably would say i like Fumino more than the others LOL

i mean, animes like this and gotoubun, and many others, probably intend to make us feel that way, but it's still strange :v
favorite "new girls" from fall <3 (lol i only watched these) ... click sig for older seasons

Tell them about it! Sensei and Senpai's arcs had so much more going about them and were significantly much more powerful and impactful, too!

Absolutely loved those two arcs.

I am gonna be super pissed because they already removed/ left out (or likely to leave out) a lot of Uruka and Sensei's important parts from this adaptation if this ends with S2 and nothing ever again. At least it is obvious in the manga which two are head and shoulders above the others. The adaptation feels like a diversion at this point.

Because if they didn't do Sensei dirty, she would probably leave others to dust if she hadn't already. And if they adapted Uruka moments, this arc would feel like a cheap bait. We all know what followed this Fumi-daddy arc. Yet they are skipping it. Fumino had a mere 3.62% advantage over Uruka in the first poll to begin with. It got reduced to a mere 1.16% in the second and that was after Fumino's arc and without an arc in sight for Uruka to this day. While Sensei thumped everyone in Japan, I need to point out that Fumino had the largest drop in the votes received in the second poll in comparison to the first. Uruka had the least drop and hence the gap closed.

I am pretty sure Fumino will be unable to keep her second place if a poll is conducted in WSJ. Uruka chapters that followed in the latter part of the manga including the most recent ones had been received very highly in Japan.

Great episode, loved that arc!

Moments between Fumino and nariyuki were really awesome, she really suits to a wife, and even entered Nariyuki's bath to clean his back, Fumino is awesome, i like her since the beginning, from Nariyuki's tutoring, she is my favourite!

Finally she decided to confront her father and tell him how much she likes starts, and seems Fumino also figured out her mother's laptop password, obvious Reiji would figure out that the password was his name!

It wa swonderfull to have a chance to see Fumino's mother, Fumino definetely inherit he rpersonality from her mother, and seems she was also bad at maths in high school, she proved that Fumino can work hard to reach her dream to her father!

And also Fumino and he rmother relationship was so hearwarming!

Nariyuki and Fumino's moment at bench was really adorable and sweet!

Reiji's asking in which level of relationship he is with Fumino was glorious!

Seems Kirisu will do a cute cosplay next episode! Can't wait! xD

Fumino becoming more of a house-bride at this point heh xD this brings hope for #TeamFumino

And as expected to be, subvert those fanservice with a swimsuit underneath.

And what should have been her friends getting first (date) base with Nariyuki, she instead got it 1st with him with star gazing. But his point has always been reconciliation for her with her dreams and ambitions, against the backdrop that her dad is done with everything that's about being a genius.

More than that, this explains her character development with her estranged genius family. Like mother like daughter, down to their exact thoughts, the only liability is with a dad who'll never understand each other after the loss of their kin, FOR 10 Years to force such a hand. Relieved of her burden to carry the weight of the family on her shoulders, certainty of gladness for her, coupled with Nariyuki's family's help.

With that, Fumino's mini arc comes to an end! Blissful episode that makes this sequel much the worth!

Last 3 episodes, the school festival arc!

I never was into the Fumi hype, but damn it this episode speaks volumes about that, I used to swear by Takemoto, I still do, well, kinda, after this episode, I genuinely can't decide. Ogata has definitely fallen back though. It's a two-sided slaughter between Takemoto and Fumi so far.
I really loved the resolution between Fumi and her father, sometimes, the most grueling ordeals only need a few words exchange to settle, always make the first step in situations like this, we only live long enough, just imagine had she never met Naryuki and gotten enough confidence to confront her father, the same goes for the father as well. A blossoming father-daughter relationship would have been to waste.

If MAL is unreliable to you, then what makes /r and /a more reliable statistically?

Polls always have different results depending on the target demographics. (For example, just look at opinion polling for US/UK general elections between regions)

Maybe MAL users like Furuhashi and Kirisu the most. So what? It doesn't represent the whole world nor does it affect our experience with the story, right?

Because MAL is full of bot accounts and botched character faves and character polls. It was also proven in Gotoubun. Also, I have mentioned anime onlies. The latter was proven in Kaguya-sama. The same cannot be said about r/ or a/ where you see the discussion of the readers.

I would have no issues if the anime adaptation was fair. But everyone who has read the manga knows that it has Fumino bias.

How do you prove it is full of bot accounts? If you don't trust the polls, then you can read the discussions on MAL too to learn which character is favored. Collect your own statistics data from discussions on /r, /a, MAL then make a chart for comparison.

The author's bias and how it affects whom the readers end up liking is pretty common, isn't it? I would even say that it is one of the author's main purposes when telling a story.

If authors have to be fair to all characters to enable an online beauty pageant or something thus having no main (female) character, then most stories are probably unfair as you put it. It would feel like making a documentary or biography.

@vikki_asa: The Author isn't bias (well, until very recently, because the story is nearing the end). The director of the anime is. The manga has been more balanced up until the point where it started getting closer to the end (in the last 10 chapters or so). The director left out very important parts with Uruka (a whole conversation that defines her relationship with Nariyuki) in the anime and Sensei (glimpses of her past and a very important recurring family member who would have had to make an appearance by now to let the anime reach Sensei's beautiful arc). But no. You cannot have those because the director decided to give Fumino the center stage. Of course the anime forums will treat Fumino as the main heroine.

As for the bots, perhaps you do not frequent MAL so that's why you are asking. I don't have to prove MAL being full of bots. Everyone knows. Even Violet Evergarden gaiden stats are manipulated by bots. Look what has happened to Chihayafuru S3 this year. The bots issue has been there for several years now. But in the last few years it has gone out of hands. Anime rankings/scores are botted. Character faves are botted. Character polls are botted. Episode polls are botted. Reviews being helpful are botted. The mods couldn't handled it so now the issue has been taken to the site developers.

It is a pity that this arc ends, but I enjoyed it very much, Fumino deserved to fix her relationship with her father

I really liked the beginning of the episode with Fumino acting as the wife of the house, it hurts that they had to remember that Fumino is a bad cook, but the good Nariyuki knows how to deal with Fumino.
The rest of the day Fumino failed in all attempts to help with the housework, until bath time arrived and Fumino decided to wash Nariyuki's back, oh god those images of Fumino, she really cheated on me, but those legs and that waist she has is something wonderful.
I loved the date Nariyuki and Fumino had, I was definitely surprised by the beauty of the starry night, Nariyuki thought very well when choosing the place and Fumino looked beautiful and I loved her enthusiasm when she talks about the constellations.
Undoubtedly Nariyuki knows how to use words well to support Fumino in her studies and her choice for studying astronomy, but he also wants Fumino and her father to reconcile.
Fumino decides to confront her father even though he does not support her study choice, but she uses all the things she learned with her mother.
Shizuru was the most beautiful woman that existed, that enthusiasm and that personality, besides that they made an excellent choice in choosing Yui Horie to give life to this character, that video that Fumino and her father saw is proof that Fumino had a great mom and the best part is that Fumino is the living image of her including that both are bad in math.
The park scene was the most beautiful, Fumino lying on Nariyuki's shoulder, her face flushed and that smile on her face left me with tears in my eyes.

Anyway, Fumino and Reiji fixed their problem and now he decides to support his daughter, Nariyuki also reveals to Fumino that her father was worried about her when she went to live with Nariyuki's family and the funniest thing was that Fumino's father was also worried if something happened between his daughter and Nariyuki.
A beautiful outcome for the arc of Fumino and now the most anticipated event, the school festival and with this the birth of a new Mahou shoujo.

Ouch. As someone who is kinda more hoping for Uruka and Naryuki, this episode didn't do them any favors.
Even so, it was a nice watch and I'm really happy for Fumino. I was actually drawn into this arc so I don't mind at all.
Really, there haven't been too many harem anime that have made me think, "No matter the result, I'll just be happy for all the girls". I'm really pleased with Bokuben. I'm really glad I gave this series a chance. ;A;

Frankly, what made this episode so touching has very little to do with the "shipping", "best girl" etc, it has LOTS to do with Fumino's character development and concrete reasons why her dream is not a plot device but rather something that is worth to cheer behind. Without parental support and others' understanding, she still refuse to give up her ambitions and hang through admirably.

If anything, this episode reinforces my belief that Fumino is one of the best-written characters in this series. I have a soft spot for girls who have a heart of champion.

I was about to say that, thanks for your wise words

Pretty good conclusion to Fumino's arc. I'm glad that we know the reason why she choose to study Astronomy making her one of the best-written characters in this anime. I also appreciate that his reconciliation with her dad was quite normal, not so dramatic but also not so funny not to take it seriously. Very balanced.

Agreed, these last two episodes as a mini arc really delivered way above everything else the series has done, and made me understand the characters struggles better, since I always felt they were just going in the opposite direction of their talents solely for the sake of others existing they were not good for that and should give up and focus on their talents instead... this is NOT the case for Fumino.
She is not doing it to contradict and make a point, despite having talent for something (it is real, the word exists, not everything is solely effort), it is genuine love and passion that is behind, nothing else matters.

Amazing episode, way higher in content both meaningful and silly adorable, than everything else the series done this far.
