Do the games in this show have a real life counterpart or, ones that are very similar to ones in real life?

They are super real!
Even the ones in the background are real. For example, you can often see games such as Catan in the shelves, which is very loved in the tabletop game community.
I personally love 6 nimmt because it's pretty fast and doesn't require much space.

I confirm that point after a quick research : all the games I wrote in Google exist & their creator's nationality was respected.

However, they are not the most known/famous in these countries. The only personal example I have is "Blokus" from episode 10, which was indeed invented where I live but this was the very first time I heard about it.

That's the only thing I know, out of all the board games they shown. Dang, board games really isn't that popular (well as far where I live in).

The games are real, the competitions are real too. I used to see some board game speciality shops but never see them anymore nowadays.

Board games are dying physically but not digitally. Nowadays people play things like Monopoly on their phone. I saw many board games are 'ported' to digital. But can they be called as 'board' games if they don't exist physically?

As an avid board gamer, I can recognize almost all of the board games in the show, even the ones without the title shown in English.

Also, the hobby is far from dying, although Kickstarter is definitely eating up too much of the market.
