I'm so excited about this, after years of dreaming about it. This manga has so much insight and the highest quality Kumeta experience, that it stands out from all of his previous works. At the same time it's been so much time since he got any press at all and Shaft really owes a lot to SZS. 2020 just keeps getting better and better

It been a while since Shaft really went out there like with SZS, I hope this will be more creative like their work pre madoka and monogatari.

I hope Shaft adapts it. They handled both of Kumeta's works (Zetsubou Sensei and Katte ni Kaizou) quite well and did the promotional video of this manga (even bringing Hiroshi Kamiya to voice the main character), so I really hope they end animating the project.

Don't really think there is any studio other than Shaft that could even do this justice. Feel like them, or Shinbou to be more exact really, and Kumeta Kouji are just such a perfect match that anything else just won't ever be good enough.

Whatever the case, fingers crossed for a good adaptation. Few manga deserve a great adaptation as much as this one.

We don't know the studio. And this is a completely different work either way.

Why does Shaft owe Kumeta? Just curious

SZS is the first anime that got them any popularity at all. It also allowed the animators to go wild unlike any other show before, maybe except Pani Poni Dash. They did a lot of experimentation with animation techniques and developed their style much more throughout all seasons of SZS than any other show. The animation technique used in Witch Labyrinths in Madoka appeared in Zan SZS first.

The manga ends this summer so let's see if they will fully animate it later! (or the anime goes according to the manga all this time and will they end together?)
