Isn't there only 111 chapters? A bit of a cop-out ending tbh. I was expecting more.

Ok this ending is indeed a letdown, but I really enjoyed this manga and couldn't stop reading because I wanted to find out how the story would continue for Satoru.

It was pretty much addicting. In particular I was fond of how this manga moved on the thin line between hope and despair. Whenever Satoru thought he found the solution for something he had to endure another setback(I'm just gonna say rats) This was especially prevalent on the island. It was easily favorite Part of the story and also the one where the survival aspect was executed best. Akiko was pretty annoying at times, but her character showed that not everyone was cut for a life under harsh circumstances. Still felt bad for her at the end. Some of the characters Satoru met later were still worse and lacked humanity. Most of them, like the professor or Tatsuno were genuinely good people, tho. Other encounter like the one with Mari and her dad ended unfortunately in another tragedy. And can't forget about Shiro. I was kinda disappointed when he was separated from Satoru. However, that made up for a good side story for him and liked how he saved his friend later in the story.

All of that allows me to overlook that half assed ending.

It also struck me as odd, even more so with the puppy. Maybe more time than just a month passed between the time when they were separated from each other and the attack. And even if not, it wouldn't bother me much xD

That ending was really disappointing. The final third of this manga was too but it still had enough for me to say it was a passable read.

I have read the manga's tags (from Baka-updates) before starting this manga so I didn't feel too disappointed with the ambiguous ending. It really brings out a few possibilities.
However, the entire last volume wasn't great and could have been shortened through part of the mc's journey given how much higher adversaries we have seen he has already accomplished. Still, the other parts are really a mix of frustrating and brilliant to read at times.
