| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Sheesh, this was difficult to watch. The animation was super limited and felt incredibly low budget. Not to mention those terrible looking CGI backgrounds. I had a hard time following the story, too. They didn't do a great job of introducing the world, any of the characters or their motivations, so half of the time I was just wondering "Why is any of this happening? Why should I care about any of this?" I know this was based on a game, so maybe if I was more familiar with that, then perhaps I would have understood things better, but that shouldn't be a pre-requisite to watching an anime adaptation. |

| It really does throw way too many characters at you all at once and the plot is barely explained. Also yeah the CGI golem and fish are ridiculous looking and the castle looks bad. |

| I've seen a lot of different stuff, but that might be the worst anime anything I've ever seen. I haven't played the video game, but it shouldn't make that much of a difference that I have absolutely no idea what is going on. Lots of terrible (and reused) animation, color, designs, and juxtaposition between 3D and 2D. Why does one guy have a gun? What exactly is the guy with the sword trying to do? We only see humans and demons, I think, so what are gods? English dub voices are not too good. The script was bad, but that doesn't seem different from the Japanese script. Musick was boring except the ending theme. Despite all this, I'm somewhat intrigued by the switch to a modern city setting. I can't wait to see what other strange things will occur. |
