Why is this show so Underrated ????!!!!!!!

I guess BSD doesn't have :
-Lolicon
-Ecchi
-Harem
-Fanservice
-Few female Characters
-A too complicated plot for kids to understand

The season 3 of Bungou Stray Dogs, that season you are talking about has the highest score of them all but as i previously mentioned it's not overhyped as a few other anime of the same season. It's not a bad thing either, a few anime have a lower score and yet are more talked than Bungou Stray Dogs. I think the main reason is because it's the 3rd season and from what i recall, the first season was underhyped as well. The score matters, am i right?

Indeed , but most of the viewers dropped the series in season 01 due to the excessive comedy and the 02 original episodes than Bones produced (Ep 6+Ep 8)

All of this and yes, too complicated to get at some level but only if you decided to get really deep into some characters which is what properly everyone should do to get how and why we call it a masterpiece might be the reason they drop it tho the beginning is not complicated at all it's actually fun, entertaining and when I first saw it I decided to take a look at story and before I even finish the first line I knew I was hooked already same as AOT the only difference is we don't have that amount of blood or violence tho most of BSD's characters are violet or had a violent history but for me I think the biggest reason is it's not all about the fits talk but it direct it's talk to the mind and soul and amaze me with each episode and God knows I needed an Anime like that in my life so unique, in a different level, way ahead of it's time and The fact that it's barely unknown in the West and here in the Middle East unlike in JP is really frustrating, but as long as we can get more out of it L.novels, movies, OVA, More seasons cuz three is not enough for my soul, I'm fine with our current Fandom it's the best we hyper over it enough in Tumblr, Funny thing at FB not a single page of what you see making votes each week about the currently airing Anime is posting about it, I asked one of them and they said non of the Admins they have watch it, IDK what's wrong with the rest but they always tend to neglect this Anime for God knows why but They can all go to Hell I'm happy that only people with a unique taste are the ones who enjoying this Anime cuz some intend to underestimate it.

Original episodes ? You mean episode 6 and 7, which are the Azure Messenger storyline ? Those episode are actually adapted from one of the light novels. Bones has been adapting them since season 1, starting with the Azure Messenger storyline, then the Dark Era, and finally Fifteen this season.

BSD has quite a few female characters, though. They're just not the typical anime archetype females or waifu material that otaku want.

Overall, I think BSD is a niche series from the way it's written, the types of characters in it and its sources of inspiration ((real world literature and authors)). It's a bit slow to get itself started and can assume a certain level of intelligence from its viewers since it tends to only mention plenty moderately important things once so viewers need to keep up with it or they get lost. There is also pretty much zero romance and the character designs are pretty humble and unrevealing. Also, there are many parts where it takes an episodic nature, especially in the first season where most of the people who couldn't get into it would have dropped it, and I find a lot of anime watchers aren't into episodic stories. Lastly, perhaps the philosophical points become too much for some people since there's actual philosophy going on in BSD and not the stupid-level stuff from most anime based on light novels.

None of my other anime friends are into BSD. They just couldn't get into it for the reasons above and from their tastes being more mainstream. I'm used to being the one with favorites that no one else has among my anime friends, though.

Look there are people in this world who are busy watching Rising of the sheild heri but haven't watched BSD. That's what makes the marriage between the anime and fan base special,the only thing i can remember recently was the cancellation of "Exapanse",a brilliant tv show that didn't appeal to a lot of viewers despite having very high ratings by critics and fan base.
It was later revived by Amazon,days after its cancellation.
My point- small number of viewers doesn't matter,as long as the viewers you have are dedicated.There'll be commotion online if BSD was to be cancelled. While a harem,B grade anime with action might post higher numbers but no one will care a bit if it's cancelled. I'll rather have 1 season of BSD than 10 season of SAO.

I dropped this series after S2 and in my opinion this series is too overrated ... Sure, the first 4 episodes of S2 is good, but the main story is really boooorrriiiiinnngg ...
