This anime is too mediocre with a lot of forced flashbacks. There was a flashback about how Marlya envied Ver for having parents and a lot of happiness but it led to nowhere. There was literary no reason for that flashback!! Free is more like a supporting character A rather than one of the main characters. I honestly didn't understand why a lot of people were so hateful about this anime but I am beginning to understand.

Seeing Veronica coming to the rescue must mean that she hasn't completely abandoned her past

I wonder why Jonathan was playing around instead of immediately catching Marlya, because from the looks of it he had a lot of chances to catch her while running after her

I'm still enjoying this. the story is quite interesting, if not still a bit murky. but I have to say the dialogue between the main girl and guy is pretty terrible. I think some of it is the english va's doing a mediocre job at times (even though I like the main guy's voice) and part of it is just really flat/lame dialogue

one example:

*girls awakes and sits up in bed*

after she sits up, the guy says, "you can sit up"

and the girl replies, "yes, [something or other]"

It's like the damn Naruto water prison jutsu meme. the scene where the girl passed out in the guy's arms was so inorganic. they're trying to force a love story here, right? it feels so inauthentic. and the guy's hand/arm gestures/mannerisms when he speaks are kind of annoying. I don't know if that's in the manga or if it was simply a poor directorial choice by the studio

fortunately that stuff is relatively minor, overall, and has zero bearing on the actual plot, which is actually good

I've got this sitting at an 8/10 right now; borderline 7/10. I'm hopeful it sticks in that 7-8/10 range
