I don't have an English version of the special story, but I do have some scans from the Japanese Blu-ray release (I suggest you get that translated if you can). An English version has been released through the Blu-ray limited edition from Rightstuf.

Sorry for being a bit late. I have the special story included in the collector's edition writen by Okada. This begins with Barrow and Racine talking before the events of the movie. They observe Maquia and Leilia from afar. The story goes on jumping to the future and coming back to Racine and Barrow (Who does not want to stay with iorphs (yeah, he and Racine are related), because he feels too different and "trapped") as narrators of some kind.

The most interesting part IMO is the one with Izol, where it is shown that he has a wife (in an arranged marriage, he feels in debt with his father in law) and two young daughters. He spends almost all the time with Leilia since Medmel's birth (she is still a baby) and he wants to tell something to Leilia, but he can't (yet). He remembers that the day when Medmel was born was beautiful. It's implied that he has feelings for Leilia (not only guilt), IMO.

Hope this helps.

No problem, I´m glad I could help =) I almost forgot, the special story also contains a scene with Maquia and Ariel (who is 11) where he says he doesn´t want to sleep with her anymore. Ariel is going to school because Maquia wants him to learn how to read and write (she doesn´t know), but he wants to find a job and become a man. A marriage couple also try to trick Maquia and sell her to Melarte´s royal family.

About what happens after the movie, sadly there is almost nothing... Okada told in an interview that the last image reflected the lives of iorphs (and half breed) several years later. I guess the two girls (who are very similar, but one is clearly a bit older than the other, so they look like siblings) who are at the front interacting with Maquia are maybe her own children (their skin is similar to Barrow´s, so who knows if he is the father, considering the end of the movie). The red hair at the back looks like an older Medmel, but it´s harder to say because you can´t see as many details in her (but the red hair and the colour of the clothes... oh, and she seems to be talking with a male iorph). Leilia is standing at the back with the renato.
Okada also says in another interview that at least one of the children in that image is a half-breed (she means the hair colour, so probably the redhaired).

I also noticed that Barrow always covers/hides his hair, except at the last scene of the movie and when he presents himself to Maquia as an iorph (or a half one at least). So this portrays that by the end of the movie he is ok with his identity and that half-breed and iorphs can convive in peace.

Barrow is Racine's half-brother to be exact, according to an interview of the animation director, Ishii Yuriko, also included in the collector's edition. That really explains why Racine feels how she does about the outside world.
