Concerning Chihiro (chapter 1-10)

When I started reading this a while ago I thought what the hell Chihiro? But reading it again and now that there are more chapters out, cleared up some stuff and I could understand a lot more about WHY Chihiro behaved like an egoistical ***. Everyone has their own opinion and some people might think I´m crazy but I can´t help but really sympathize with him (not saying what he does is good of course! Kissing Ricchan and at the same time telling her that he is not separating from his girlfriend IS THE WORST GOD DAMMIT!!!! ). In the following I want to make people, who thought the same like me understand Chihiro a bit more, because I think he himself as character is quite interesting. I apologize beforehand because it might all be a bit messy..

Parents behaving like Chihiro´s do affect children. Chihiro thinks that lovers won´t last forever (his parents did always argue and separated I think), whereas childhood friends do. That is his twisted idea of the whole thing.. I think he does love Ricchan but ignores it or does not even truly realize it? That may be connected to his childhood trauma if I may call it that and I think he is just really really scared to truly love someone, because there is the risk to get hurt and left all alone in the end like his mom or dad.

Also the girlfriend thing..
WHY he did get himself a girlfriend..well that is a bit..
He did think that he wanted to be a hero like Ricchan, who said that she would congratulate him if he should ever get a girlfriend (Chihiro did eavesdrop a bit, unvoluntarily I believe)..
So his girlfriend might be a way to live up to Ricchan´s opinion and to distract himself from his actual love for her (he did look hurt when listening in) -> and keep his twisted idea of love in mind!

Understanding Chihiro got a bit easier after reading more and I can´t help but wish for his happiness, because he is in a way pitiful..as long as he keeps sticking to his ideas, he won´t ever find true love and be truly happy.. Also he would just continue to hurt Ricchan as well as his girlfriend..I thought I could hate her, but she is such a saint it makes it impossible!

Moreover I´m interested in how his character will develop throughout the series..
Hoping for not too much drama..

Just finished chapter 13, i don't want to spoil you or something, but i really don't like how Chihiro acts, his actions are making Ricchan's life harder and harder.
And yeah, what he did at the trip was so not necessary, i pretty much hate him for that.
Also, i feel bad for his girlfriend, i feel like he doesn't love her at all and he wants to keep Ricchan for him too, not nice. She deserves some love, she is so cute and nice.

Thanks for your reply and also for no spoilers :)! I totally understand you and respect your opinion! At the beginning I thought just well.. you know. But I think his character is really realistic and shows the ugly human side, not typically shown in shojo manga (hope I´m correct and Dramatic Irony is labeled as shojo not josei or something!)

Yes, you are right :D That's what keeps me reading it, and it's not the only one like that!
They act like normal, real people with rights and wrongs, and misses some shoujo typical aspects :D
What i don't like is that i can't find the other chapters anywhere...i think this manga is not that popular :<
