Does takao's romantic feelings was mutual?I mean did yukino also loved him romantically. If it is do they acknowledged it later?

We don't really know. I think you have to admit something was there. But for various reasons they could not really do anything. I think it is left open-ended, so perhaps one day. I think when she embraces him that is at least a partial recognition of those feelings.

I believe Takao had romantic feelings for her but she didn't have any such. She saw him as a very good friend like a close one but it never once looked like she had romantic feelings for him, to me that is.

I think their relationship was similar to like mother and son on her side, and he saw her as some like untouchable mature figure and that was really alluring to him, and that was why he liked her the way he did. But I think she felt mostly maternal instinct and mentorship for him.

That's it. That's why all the drama wasn't believable. Trust me, no sane woman in her late twenties will cry on a shoulder of a teen kid and expect him to understand her sorrows. In reality no such thing will happen. He'd be just a random child to her, no more than that. But it's anime world, so who knows.

Glad it wasn’t just me- sure, the animation was beautiful but for all the reasons you just listed I just couldn’t get into the movie at all. I kept thinking how there’s no way this would happen lol or if i am supposed to somehow take it seriously and like it would, it’s inappropriate/borderline predatory behavior on the teachers part.
