| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- "You are loved, so rest easy and take good care of your baby. Don't think about anything you don't need to." "I know, mom. After all, that's the most charming thing about me." This passage reminds me of how in The Great Gatsby, Daisy wishes that her daughter ends up a fool because "that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool". The whole conversation portrays a mother passing on self-deprecating social norms to her daughter who just gave birth, and really shows how the most misogynistic beliefs are perpetuated forcefully by women. Excellent chapter. |
