| Its an adaptation. Manga and anime are different. If you go in expecting a genuine straight copy you are making a mistake, this only works for certain manga and from what I gather this comic is deceptive with its depth combined with its shounen-like image and setup. I don't think its as bad as you're saying yet, and I never read the comic (yet). I immediately saw your post after watching the first two eps, and you claimed the Nemesis attacks first, but plainly this is untrue - Seth throws his bomb at him first. This show is a 21-ep anime based on the comic. Maybe it will pan out to be good on its own, also flashbacks are possible to add in some scenes. In order to keep people watching a show it must be paced a certain way, as TV is a diff. medium than comics and unless there is a guaranteed hit and long length, you must garner an audience. If it's not for you, then come back when its over and see how things pan out. |

| The author popped up in the Facebook fan group and said that at first he didn't like the scripts for the first half of the series and there were a lot of exchanges between him and the production team, but they said that the first volume could not be animated into episodes without changes, so it was reworked. He said he would have liked to avoid this, though. However, apparently the production team followed the events of the Rumble Town arc more closely so there should be fewer differences ! That's good to hear. But yeah just like we thought Lerche just went in with no intention of following the first volume. And I understand that adapting a 100+ pages chapter one can be a hassle but it's no excuse for how bad those 3 episodes were, other made way better with only 2 episodes, also removing important plot details (like Dragunov talking to the inquisitors about Seth, Seth knowing where to start his journey, the Bravery Quartet being way more cruel, Seth using fantasia easily without his gloves) was pretty stupid for the coherence of the story and background universe and keeping consistency with the following events. I dm it to you, since every time I post a link my post is removed (which is fun considering how MAL don't even consider Radiant as a proper manga). This minor thing changes a lot of things in how the sorcerer world works. But nothing important for the "only anime" public. Yeah apparently the first episodes were already done when Tony started to work as a consultant so they didn't bothered changing those things I guess. But the fact they use books to learn how to use fantasia really trigger me, because it's supposed to be your imagination that makes the magic work. |
