DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Ial was recovering fast, and he realized that Erin felt like another person, like she had lost her soul together with part of her left hand. They then talked about how that Beast-Lord didn't react to the harp of that man, and Erin said in the end that raising a Beast-Lord using the mute whistle creates a cold wall between them and humans, that it was a cold, yet necessary wall. Ial then asked her if she intended to die in order to seal her skills with her death, and then she opened up with him, saying that she wanted to until a while ago, since she raised Lilan as she wanted, she had to take responsibility for it, but after listening to Damiya she realized that even if she died, things would continue like this, and one day someone able to control the Beast-Lords would just appear again, so if people are supposed to fall into ruin like this, there's nothing that she can do, but she certainly don't want to control a Beast-Lord to fight the Touda. She then asks Ial if the country distortion would disappear if she re-enacted the miracle from the tales. The took the long away to answer her question, first he said that after taking the code of the Sezan, his priority was to protect the Queen, and that he tried to not think about the country state because it would make him doubt his actions, but he couldn't help it, he started to realize all kinds of things, and he also talked about his past, that his father was a woodworker/joiner, and that his mother wouldn't have sold him if his father hadn't died in a earthquake, that he would have followed his steps, and worked in what he liked instead of killing people. He also said that working with wood made him feel better than playing around with women, and that's why he strictly followed the code. Erin then related him to a Touda, and understood her mother feelings better than ever. He also told her about Shunan, and how Seimiya also hurt him when she said that she wasn't being protected by any military power. That Shunan was a man with heart, who would make Seimiya see the country's situation for what it is if he became her significant other. He also told Erin about how he's haunted by the people he's killed even today, and that this had to be the same for the men who have been fighting in the war, and that it wasn't right for Seimiya to not know about this, and that it couldn't be left like this. Erin then asked Ial if there is a way for her to speak with Seimiya without being disturbed by Damiya. She didn't know if this would change anything, but she at least wanted to try. Ial then said that there was a way, and that since it was Erin, it might be possible. |
