System Information Introduction Rules and Guidelines Basic Rules: Be respectful to everyone. Spamming is not allowed (double posts are acceptable as long as they don't occur consistently). Try not to offend people. If the Creator has to resolve an argument or put out a fire, everyone will lose. I promise. Sex, or any Sexual activities are forbidden. PM me if you want access to a special club designed for such things. Otherwise go to pms or a club ur already in. Do not create threads without permission from the creator. The Admins are available to talk if you need it. However, unless it is a private matter, it is preferred that you make requests, put suggestions, and ask questions in the proper thread. Send story suggestions to @Darth_Lewdious, aka the Creator. Another important rule. When making something, you come to new realizations and ideas. This means somethings were changed Midway through, if you find two sets of contradictory info, let me know. Also if you find me contradicting myself, call me out. And finally, if you don't understand something, ask! Unless Specified in powers and descriptions of objects, the following are assumed: All Temporary Objects made by Xera Charges are of a non-descript, brittle material at the hardness of iron or Steel. They are at industry standard for items of that type. If no standard exists for said object, or object has no real world comparison, then the size and wieght must be identified. They are of one material, and one part. Meaning no embellishments. They have no special characteristics. Unless explicitly stated, powers will do what they are supposed to do. No Implied powers. Just because you can cause friction between the air doesnt mean its implied that you can create and control fire. If a similar scenario occurs, it will be called out and ignored int he response posts. RPing Rules: You can start RPing once your character has been approved by an admin. You are allowed up to 2 characters. If you show to be an active role player then you will be given more slots. Ask for them in the Request Thread. No god modding in any capacity, refer to this site for examples on what not to do. If this is done in a battle, you will lose the battle, no questions asked. This rule does not simply refer only to battles. god modding in any scenario can and will be dealt with. Do not change the setting without the creator's permission. The minimum requirement for sentences per post is three, no less than that. A character can't be at two locations at once. (Duh) (unless a power is made to bypass this rule) Label posts with the name of the of the character you are RPing as. Character death is possible in rare occasions. When a character is in a situation where character death is a possibility, it will be indicated. Otherwise, death results in Ressurrection. See details below. Retconning is allowed on the basis that you have agreement from the Creator of the club or multiple admins and all people affected by said Retcon. Violation will be dealt with severely. When going to a new thread: READ THE ORIGINAL POST. It contains a reference image and vital information about the area. Ranking and Stats The Ranking System and Stat system and are a Meta value system based on letters, arranged in a particular order. Meaning characters for the Time being are unaware of them. The letters are abstract values meant for comparison between an action and a response. They are not hard values, and will only be used in matching and low probability actions. The order of ranks and expected power are: Rank L - Useless Rank K - Powerless Rank J - Impaired Rank I - Pathetic Rank H - Pushover Rank G - Weakened Rank F (Base Level) - Supremely Average Rank E - Adept Rank D - Proficient Rank C - Excellent Rank B : Prime Specimen Rank A : Magnum Naturae Rank S : Superhuman Rank SS : Ascended Rank SSS : Transcendent Rank X : Grim Rank U - Near Insurmountable Rank O : Abandon all Hope... This ranking system is a universal measure, that applies to powers, characters, and enemies. Upon achieving a higher rank, you will begin to face stronger enemies, as well as get better items and be able to make stronger powers. The Max Rank a player's stats can achieve is X. A characters level cannot fall below F, however, stats can be reduced through debuffs of powers. Progression is done through an XP system. You gain XP from enemies primarily, but there are less reliable sources to be found in exploration. Let it be well understood that those with a higher character rank will be at increased risk for high level Encounters. Only rank up when confident your character can handle more. 0 = F 100 = E 225 = D 500 = C 1125 = B 2525 = A 5675 = S **(Character Max) *Special = Badass (Character Max) (Character Only) (Req. Stated Below) 8500 = SS 12550 = SSS 17500 = X (Stat Max) *A character whom achieves all stats above level S will earn the special character-only rank: Badass **A character cannot progress past S Rank normally. Magic, Abilities, and Powers Upon creation of a power, you must chose the type of ability. This could be any of the following. Spellwork Spellwork is what one would call ordinary magic. It is average in every way, and is very straight forward, doing little more than a single intended affect. Most commonly a basic damage attack. Enchantment Enchantments are temporary, or maybe even permanent boosts to people or equipment. One can increase the sharpness of a sword, or enhance the speed or strength of another character. Strengthen armor and fortify the ally with survivability. However, this can also work against the enemy, enchanting the enemy or their things with negative effects. Summon Conjure up objects, animals, beasts, or entities to serve your purpose. A sumon, depending on the spells used, can either fade away normally, or become a real object, and exist outside of the spellwork. Morphic Morph magic allows the caster to change their body at will. be it take on a new face, gender, or adorn yourself with ideal traits from animals of life and fiction. Channeling When one channels the magic of a higher power for their own purposes. May this be a god, angel, shadow, or even Gore Master. Shamanism Shamanism is the channeling of magic through objects and medicines. A shamanic power requires a specific item or type of item to use. Whether or not the object is consumed on cast, how rare, unique, specific, valuable an item is will be factors determines the powers final strength. Psionics Psionics are kind of magic, but also kind of not. They dont necessarily use the power of Xera. Psionics are generated when the energy of the users Soul is being harnessed by the Users Brain and Willpower. Xera can be used however to amplify and access latent psionic potential. Chaotic Chaotic magic has a very high tendency to turn against its caster.usually hurting them just as much as the enemy. Chaotic magic is usually much stronger, but it comes with bad side effects. the stronger the side effect, the stronger the magic. Exotic Magic that defies a normal classification would fit here. Only the most creative, out of the box powers could be labeled as such. Skill A skill is unassisted by magic, and can be many things. A particular evasion method, a signature attack or even a team-based strateg attack. Trait A trait is a biological advantage or disadvantage that one gets as a right of their birth. The Inhuman races often have a few unlisted traits, unfortunately, to make use of such potential they must create a trait and get it approved. Bound Item Any item you own can be bound to you. Their innate magic and all. Cannot be something you don't already have in your inventory. The only exception is during Character creation. Anything that takes up a slot can be summoned and desummoned at will, and all bound items carry over to you when resurrected. Bound Items can be destroyed, and unless specified, will required three posts before they can be summoned again. Curse Unlike other slots, a higher Ranking curse is much worse for the one it affects. these are strictly negative enchantments that can be permanently placed on characters. Characters cannot use these without strict restrictions. Removing a curse costs XP equal to the Rank of the Curse, or utilization of an NPC capable. The original caster can also remove the curse for free. There is no limit to how many curses can be placed on a character. When a curse is placed on a character, the specific details of that curse arent known until it has been appraised. The Pylons have staff capable of this, but appraisals are not free unless you die first. Currently a Curse can only be gained IC. Blessing A Blessing is a power, or a gift of power, given by a person/being/entity in order to help the affected. Blessings are usually unknown until appraised, can be discovered after Death at the Pylon appraisal. A Blessing can only be passed from the original holder, to a second party. The blessed cannot in turn bless others. Currently a Blessing can only be acquired IC. In order to get new powers, skills, or equipment; one must fill out the request sheet for it. Getting new powers requires XP. Making a rank C item/skill/power/trait requires the same amount of XP as it would take to rank up a stat or the character Rank. The relationship between this applies to all ranks. A character cannot make a item/skill/power/trait that is more than 1 rank above them. The exception lies when a character achieves the Badass Rank. Then they can obtain a power of any rank. The XP cost for the Dreaded Rank U power, stands at 75000 XP, and the price rises by 50000 for each one you get. And for the Almighty O Rank Power, 150000 XP. And it triples in cost each purchase. Just don't destroy cities. Your primary mode for getting XP or fame will be bounties. Many bounties require or suggest teaming up. Fortunately, anybody can take a bounty from anyone. With each faction presenting a different theme. This was a later change in system development. Meaning if somewhere says you can only take bounties from your own Faction, inform me. -Tor Upgrading Slots In order to upgrade a slot, you must fill out the required sheet in the request thread. When upgrading, one of two scenarios will happen. You will enhance the effects of an old power to match the new rank, or you will add a higher rank effect to a lower rank power. The former is cheaper, but the latter is more powerful. Keep in mind that you can't upgrade a C rank to a stronger C rank. Once you upgrade a skill and it's approved that's it, so choose wisely. You only have until your next post after approval to undo the upgrade. For example. Increasing a Burning status to an Immolation status would only cost the rank difference. However, adding Immolation to a fireball spell would cost full price. Combat Physical Slash Slashing damage is as described. A slicing done by a sharp blade. Slash damage is especially effective when applied to soft flesh. However, almost useless against armor. Blunt The force of impact from an object neither sharp or pointy. It excels at breaking apart armor or bashing skulls. Pierce With a narrow point, and small effective placement, the Piercing damage can bypass most armors, and is massively effective when striking weak points. Elemental Fire (Tor) The Great Equalizer. Wars have begun and ended due to this volatile element. Fire is extremely effective against flesh. Ineffective against inorganic substances. Secondary Elements: Kaaos Fire, Cursed Fire, Holy Fire, Solar, Plasma, Heat, Magma Water (Halu) Nature has always found a way to make the most necessary things in life, the most deadly. Oceans can swallow land, and runoffs can devour homes. Water is a neutral element, and can be warped into physical damages as well as heated or cooled. Secondary Elements: Poison, Holy Water, Pressure, Storm Electricity (Thul) Superheated Electric currents flow through conductors with near perfect efficiency. It's good against both flesh and mechanicals. Secondary Elements; Storm, Plasma, Kaaos Electricity, Smite Earth (Tennas) The stubbornness of man can only truly be paralelled to that of earth. Dirt, Rock, Hill, or mountain. They are the symbol of strength and fortitude. Secondary Elements: Metal, Magma Wind (Cael) The force of air is not to be underestimated. With it you possess the power of motion, of force made solid. Like water, you can use it to create physical force, or use it to generate more potent effects. Secondary Elements: Storm, Pressure Xeraphic Light (Veih Xera) Elemental light, found in street lamps, the glow of deep see fish, the sun. Completely neutral light. Secondary Elements: Holy Light, Cursed Light, Blighted Light, Solar Light, Starlight, Moonlight, Holy Fire, Holy Water, Holy Xeraphic Dark (Ven Xera) Elemental Dark. The absence of light, general excellent at status effect. Secondary Elements: Shadow, Moonlight, Darkness Life (Laaos) The energy of living things, of healing and growth. Undead creatures are harmed by life energy, and the living are healed. Secondary Elements: Flora, Fauna, Spirit, Astral Death (Hestraan) The energy of endings. Death Magic is harmful to all but the Undead. To whom it strengthens. Secondary Elements: Spectral, Necro, Spirit Xera (Xera) Absolute energy that forms the base of all elemental magic. However it can be channeled into raw power. While it has potential, it's neutrality means it has neither bonuses or detriments. Secondary Elements: Everything Misc. Elements Psionics Psionic energy is channeled through the soul and exploited through the mind. This unique energy can be amplified by xera, but not created. The only power man has on his own, but can only wield it naturally with Willpower. Accoustic The power of sound, particularly the music or voice of someone learned to channel magic energy into their vocals. Blind For whatever reason, you cannot see. Duration and cause must be listed. Burning You are on fire. You lose 10% of maximum health each post until you are not burning, or you die. Fright You have witnessed something scary, and you are afraid. Fear manifests in one of two ways. Paralysis, or the desire to run. Immunity to this status occurs at Willpower C. Immolation You have been engulfed in a violent blaze. You lose 50% of max health until you put it out, or you die. Period. Internal Bleeding You are bleeding into your organs. It will reduce your stats by 1 ever post for five posts or you will pass out. If not healed in 3 posts afterwards, you will die. Minor Bleeding Your body has been cut, and you are slowly bleeding out. Cannot kill you, but will render you unconscious in 7 posts if not treated. Mortified You have witnessed horror unimaginable, abandon all hope. Willpower is reduced by 5, all other stats are reduced by 2. Immunity at Willpower X. Paralysis Your body, or select parts of the body can't move. Reducing movement option and making life difficult for the afflicted. Rot Plague An extremly toxic mucus produced through the slow decomposition of Defiler jaw lining and the ecsrement of Calaax Worms can cause extreme and fatal Necrosis if it gets inside the bloodstream. When one is bitten by a Defiler or gets fluid in them from rhe Calaax Worms, then they have approximately 1 post before their body begins heating up. Muscle atrophy begins the next post. Then organ failure the next. Then brain death the post after. Most medical facilities are equiped to handle this. Seek medical attention at once. Severe Bleeding You are hemmorhaging blood on the inside and out. If not treated in 3 posts, you will die. Unconsciousness occurs after a single post. Terror You have seen horrible things, and you are terrified. It causes the will power stat to be reduced by 2, and causes the need to escape. Immunity at Willpower A. Unconscious/Sleep You are no longer awake, and cannot defend yourself. If the status is applied through a power or another status, the following parameters must be specified or the following is assumed. If the target is unconscious because of severe damage, then nothing except medical attention will wake them. If applied as an affect.of a power or item, it will by default last 1 post at minimum. Physical contact or damage or loud noises will wake them. User Defined Special Statuses often unique to a person or single power. These will be defined in the power, and will be judged per case. I want to describe in this thread the essence of battle here. The enemy is unknown, and you will face horrible ugly beasts. I will play as these monsters. EVERY CHARACTER HAS AN INNATE ACTIVE ABILITY Danger Imminent is an ability that is present in every characterh. In fact you are raised to know how to activate Danger Imminent. Upon activation, Danger Imminent will choose an emotion to best describe the target. Be it comfort, suspicion, or extreme fear. Be advised to listen well to it. It is seldom wrong. Now understand that because there IS a stable Ressurrection system, I will be fair but ruthless. Don't go charging into a battle blind. What you don't know might kill you. And don't say he studied then ooc. Because I won't accept it. If you want to learn stuff, then visit a library or something. Don't swing your sword and simply assume in your follow up that it will hit. If your post doesn't cover your actions if you fail, then your character won't be able to evade the counter attack should you fail. And if you tell me what your character does when he inevitably succeeds, I will tell you what your character did if you fail. The enemy will do everything in it's power as a life form to Survive. And the unprepared WILL die. Be smart and prepared when possible, and cautious when not. In each major settlement there is a magic device monitored and defended by the IAHD that indescriminantly identifies those who are alive, ensnares their soul, and upon dying, captures it. They and everything attached to them as a person and remanifests it. These are called Bound Items. Bound items include clothes and personal accessories of deep sentimental value or are so frequently worn that it is associated with you. Also, all Items given a slot in the characters power/skills/equipment section is considered a Bound Item. This Ressurrection is NOT perfect. And should be avoided if possible. When brought back to life, you are often returned with an often debilitating defect. For example, if a person dies of a fall, they may experience crippling vertigo unless their feet are firmly planted on solid ground. Or if they are crushed, they may experience breathing problems that cause limited stamina which would result in an increase in skill and power cooldowns. Death by a thousand cuts might result in disfigurement and a severe prone to bleeding status effects. Bound items can also be returned with defects. Furthermore, the Pylons cannot Ressurrection anything not consider bound to you. Meaning all of your items are left behind with your corpse. And yes, you still leave a corpse behind. Assuming your items aren't eaten with your body, then they are left on the ground for anyone to claim. Finally, all bound items, such as clothes and items are not duplicated like your body, but instead disintegrate into energy then gathered by the pylon. When a character goes inactive, they can be recalled. This is to orevent parties from being frozen for long periods of time. After a whole week of inactivity, a character will be recalled. You dont have tjodo anything soecial to get a character out of recall, just post at your pylon. The Recall phenomenon is what could be described as a glitch im the Pylons, sometimes it will collect a person who hasnt died, and their body, items, amd everything will be collected by the pylon, and be held in stasis until they can be reprocessed and spawned. |

Lore The World Three hundred years ago, a terrible war came to an end with the last remnants of the world huddling together for safety. Ten years before that end, the first signs of the invasion came, but went ignored. Then their numbers got more numerous, and then the Dread Lords came. And even now, it is thought that their arrival is what truly ended the war. Humanity was just too stubborn to get out of the way. Upon the end of the war, the sentient races on earth began to spread out more. Forming new villages, rebuilding what they had lost. reclaiming the earth that was ravaged from them. Now, there re millions of them. Plenty of Villages, cities, and humans and inhuman races are virtually the same in society. There is no dominant race ever since the first Xera Waves. This is how the world went on since the darkness. For three hundred years. Now, something new is coming, and the oracles can taste the difference in the Xera energy. Races Human - The first race to inhabit the earth. Humans have known itself to exist for millions of years. However, it's violent nature frequently creates catastrophic wars, setting back it's development as a species and periodically purging historical records. Automaton - The accidental children of Humanity. After a long debate, and many technological advances, humanity and these artificial life-forms shared earth as equals. They value learning and their progression as a race and a Society. While rumors of the contrary exist to this day, they do not possess a group mind. And they have made no attempts to in fear of compromising their sentience. The base code of sentience, embedded inside each Automaton is an evolving, self-replicating code that was invented by a one of a kind genius. Any and all attempts to break down the code or replicate it has proven futile. Hollow Chassis which can support this code can be produced however. The replicated strain of data is then transfered to the chassis. The new Automaton is driven by the thirst for knowledge, and is self-teaching. Minimal parenting is required. The family dynamic exists for them as records rather than emotional bond. Though many will establish it's "family" close to itself. Heteromorphs - What happens when a pregnant woman is exposed to incredible amounts of Xeraphic energy early in her cycles? Nothing. Not to her at least. The developing child will mutate into something else entirely. Why the pattern seems capable of generating humans with animal features isnt exactly well understood. It appears to be affected by the mother in multiple ways. Her favorite animal. An animal she is afraid of. Maybe an animal in her thoughts. It doesn't even appear relevant if said animal even exists. Unicorn features are not unheard of. Furthermore, the Heteromorphs are still primarily human genetically. Meaning any human can give birth to either a human or a Heteromorph, and the inverse applies equally. It doesn't have to be animal traits either. Some Heteromorphs are unlucky enough to look like corpses, elfish, etc. The only difference from a Heteromorphic Ghoul and a Ghoul Proper is that Heteromorphic Ghouls aren't innately magical beings. Extraterrestrial - While Aliens had been known to exist long before the darkness, the interaction of earth and the stars was extremely minimal as Proper slipspace technology was proving to be a much more difficult task than originially projected. However, after the darkness, Earth sent out transmissions hoping for friendly aid. While it took a hundred years for it, they did come. And due to the overwhelming presence of artificial life, mixed life, and alien life, it has become difficult to distinguish whether or not something came from earth. Supernatural - The Supernatural are creatures born directly from magic, or other supernatural entities. Among such categories can be found the Undead, Shrine Spirits, and even a dapper strip of sentient bacon. But of course, there are more. If you want to know how a certain supernatural creature fits into the lore, PM @Darth_Lewdious Notes: Angels, Demons and Shadows have much heavier lore restrictions. Factions Fame is a system of XP unique to factions. Fame determines your rank in a faction and therein your title. Sources so far Include: New Discoveries Magic Items Magic Item Donations Research Samples Bounties Defeating Enemies (If not alone) Defeating High Profile Targets Heroic Deeds Factions have bonuses for specific sources. The bonus will be indicated in bold in their segment in factions. When you gain fame, the admin (unless otherwise stated) will provide the Base Value of your fame. Calculate your bonus as such and include it at the bottom of your next post in bold. Here is a quick reference to the Rank REQ for all Factions. Remember to use fame to rank up. There is no reason not to when available unless you are saving up for free stuff. 0 = F 100 = E 225 = D 500 = C 1125 = B 2525 = A 5675 = S Below is the definition and calculation method for bonuses. You don't have to use it if you don't want to do the quick calculator math, just forfeit the bonus. Anyways, they are as such: Scale Factor 1: 20% of the base value is added as bonus. Calculate by multiplying the base value by 0.2 and rounding upwards. Scale Factor 2: 40% of the base value is added as bonus. Calculate by multiplying the base value by 0.4 and rounding upwards. Scale Factor 3: 60 % of the base value is added as bonus. Calculate by multiplying the base value by 0.6 and rounding upwards. Scale Factor 4: 80 % of the base value is added as bonus. Calculate by multiplying the base value by 0.8 and rounding upwards. Scale Factor 5: 100% of the base value is added as a bonus. Calculate by multiplying the base value by 1. Obviously. I hope. IAHD "While it was the worst, The Darkness is not the first extinction Event we faced. Nor will it be the last. We must be prepared to face the enemy of Earth. Whichever shape they take." International Association of Human Defense. It's Advent was long before the darknessr, and due to the loss of knowledge the exact date is unknown. The IAHD is made to monitor potential threats to mankind, and after the war they were revived after one of their headquarters ere discovered in the lost city of Feyn. If anything will become a threat, the IAHD is permitted to eliminate it by all means necessary. Members of IAHD receive a massive boost in fame gathered when they defeat a unique entity considered powerful. Scale Factor 2 applied to New Discoveries and Research Samples Their Titles are as follows: Rank F - Student Rank E - Curious Rank D - Intelligent Rank C - Researcher Rank B - Scientist Rank A - Observer Rank S - Archivist ____________________ Wandering Cartographer "So much information was lost when the Grand Library of Eru fell. Even with what we salvaged, we know so little about our own world. The Wandering Cartographer exists to create the true map of Earth in all of it's three dimensions." The Wandering Cartographers name comes not from their mission, but from their unique headquarters. The Wandering Cartographer is a large airship-like fortress that flies around the world. Docking occasionally in specific structures that it has had built. This can make tracking down the Cartographer difficult when it is out and about. Each member of the Cartographer is given a sonar implant that maps out the imminent area under your ID. Exploration milestones at 25, 50, 75, and 100% will be given extra rewards. Scale Factor 4 Applied to New Discoveries but only if it is a location previously unexplored. Rank F - Hiker Rank E - Explorer Rank D - Traveler Rank C - Nomad Rank B - Delver Rank A - Surveyor Rank S - Cartographer ____________________ Apex Company "Ever since the Darkness, Warriors have had little use. We are the Predators. We are the Apex of Human power. And for a price, we can lend that power to your needs." The Apex Company started out as a successful band of Mercenaries. As they grew, they became the go-to group for "problem-solving". They didn't care what the job was, as long as it payed adequately. This has given them infamy, fortune, and plenty of work. Scale Factor 3 applied to Completing Bounties of any kind. Rank F - Recruit Rank E - Expendable Rank D - Problem Solver Rank C - Bounty Hunter Rank B - Warrior Rank A - Predator Rank S - Apex ____________________ The Collectors "The War left so many things lost and ruined. And Among these losses are often objects of Great power that would greatly benefit the world. We collect these artifacts and study them." The Collectors .are a bit of a secretive society that makes great contributions to society regularly. They have a base in every major city where they hold magic relics before they are transported to the Grand Vault in the Nuro Mountains. Scale Factor 3 to Magic Item Donations only to a Vault. Rank F - Seeker Rank E - Hobbyist Rank D - Enthusiast Rank C - Antiquarian Rank B - Archeologist Rank A - Curator Rank S - Paleophile ____________________ New Pantheon "Come my dear children. I offer you rest and comfort in the arms of your patron deity. All they ask, is that you be there for them when the need arises." After the war with the darkness, seven goddesses amassed a new following. Especially with the omnipotent beings dead, the people began looking to these ancient and competitive deities. When listing this faction in the Characters tracker or other system threads, make certain to list your patron Deity before your title. The Deities include: Arachne, the Goddess of Weaving. Artio the Goddess of Bears. Hang'E, the goddess of the moon. Isis, the Goddess of Magic. Pele, the Goddess of Fire. Skadi, the Goddess of Winter. And Venus, the Goddess of Beauty. Patron Deity is a permanent choice. Scale Factor 4 Applied to Completing Bounties posted by your patron Deity. Rank F - Initiate Rank E - Devout Rank D - Acolyte Rank C - Herald Rank B - Zealot Rank A - Apostle Rank S - Champion ____________________ The Grey Dawn Society "Do not fear Death for it is not the one whom forces malady upon us." Formed of cooperation between a Dullahan and an upper-class bussinessman, the Grey Dawn Society was created to grant freedom to those who no longer wish for ressurection. With the soul snare binding them no more, the members of the society owe a debt to Death and it's children, one they work to repay by hunting down those who've outlived their time. Despite having earned a reputation as killers, the members of the society proudly wear it's emblem where it can be seen. Members of the society will not ressurect upon Death. Scale Factor 2 applied to Completing Bounties and Defeating High Profile Targets. Their Titles are as follows: Rank F - Supporter Rank E - Nominee Rank D - Guest Rank C - Patron Rank B - VIP Rank A - Organiser Rank S - Host Starting Assests At the end of the day every person has a place to call home, whatever they may have made for themselves before this. The place where most of the physical assets are often. To decide what a person has in general a person has to decide their primary lifestyle which represents their general affluence of day-to-day life. If they elect to be of higher lifestyles do understand the meaning behind such in the work your characters will be performing, given the dangerous work done as a mercenary why would someone of a higher lifestyle be doing such a occupation with many a hazards. To divulge in the lifestyles you will be looking at people whom life within luxury, a high standard, middle-class, low standard, living the squatter life or living on the streets. As a person living in luxury you would be offered the best of everything: high-tech toys, the best food and drink, you name it. This is the life for high-stakes winners and what many yearn for. However this also mean the bills can be pretty hefty and will not be forgotten if you are not supported by someone else. A high living offers a cozy condo or roomy house, good food and often an excellent view. Whilst not as comfortable as one living in luxury you are not gonna have as many gunning for you. The middle class is the life of ordinary wage-earners or reasonably successful off the cuff workers. In low lifestyles your character would have an apartment and unlikely to be bothered, it might not be great but at least its reasonable, often people whom are just starting or down on their luck. Squatters are people whom don't even have a regular apartment, often in closet-sized rooms or sharing an average sized apartment with other squatters, or just renting out a sleep tank by the night. As for streets, this is explanatory for itself, these are those at the bottom of the ladder. Supported by this lifestyle one can imagine more easily what assets a person may own, course it might not always be set. A less then common object of worth might be passed down through the family for example, or such an object had been stolen for those down under the ladder. What it may be this can assist you in imagining whom your character is in this world. Terminology Small but nevertheless important words and things that need defining. If you don't understand a term, look here. If you don't find it, tag an admin in the request thread and ask. Something missing? Let me know in the request thread and I'll try and make time to add it. Arvas Link - A bit of technology developed amd intergrated into MHPT and global technological devices that works as a sort of host and client bluetooth system. One device requests another for a link. The requesting device becomes the client. If accepted, the Host device will then semd data over to the client. All MHPT have an Arvas Link. Things such as the Mission Boards, amd Lumin Creditors have them so that they can function. The Arvas Link essentilly allows the MHPT to interface with any compatible technology. Chroma - Upon the arrival of a particular race, they brought with them something called Non-Nucleic Matter Lattices. These were cubes or containers of quantum locked subatomic particals in a solid form. They then founded a company and began producing it. Localizing the name to Chroma. Chroma is a programmable matter that can take on complex shapes and structures. While it is strong enough to be used in construction, it's inability to truly transmute makes it mostly using in the fabrication of things like furniture, dishes, etc. The cheap solution to limited resources. Despite it's limitations, the producers of Chroma are considered the third wealthiest group on Earth. Flux - The Subatomic remains of Chroma. Once one of the particles have been used up you get Flux. Flux is useful only to the Konam Industry to be used as spare matter for Chroma. IAHD - International Association of Human Defense. It's Advent was long before the darkness, and due to the loss of knowledge the exact date is unknown. The IAHD is made to monitor potential threats to mankind, and after the warthe were revived after one of their headquarters ere discovered in the lost city of Feyn.. If anything will become a threat, the IAHD is permitted to eliminate it by all means necessary. After everything, its name remains unchanged though it defends all life. Lumin - The Currency of the world. It is a digital currency based on a complex calculation that could determine the value of anything in measures of anything. Supposedly it was built by the same person who created the Automaton. A secretive genius who ended up thinking himself to death. As such, nobody to date has been able to crack his code to understand it. But somehow it remains accurate to this day. MAVERICK - The MAVERICK is a powerful Matter to Energy conversion tool, capable of transmuting complex atomic structures into Protean energy, and then back into their orignal form. For all intensive purposes, Protean Energy is weightless, and such the MAVERICK is used most commonly to relocate heavy objects. It does not work on living things, or objects rich in Xera. MHPT - The Miniature Holographic Projection Terminal. A fancy name for an even fancier device. This device has been around for centuries at least. The MHPT, or Holo-com as a lot of people call it, was designed with a unique hardware system that allowed it's core hardware to change with an update. Because of this, updates can now improve the strength, versatility and overall power of the Holocom. A public database connected to the Index sub-servers. Non-surgical cybernetic linking with the body, DALRA encrypted Lumin accounts. Map system fed directly from the Primary Cartographer Station, Emergency Alert systems managed by the IAHD, an endless sea of apps and utility features to download, messaging, calling, everything one could want it to be. The world on your wrist. Nobody in particular makes them. A lot of separate companies manufacture them since it isn't trademarked. Everyone has one, and everyone has a backup. Everyone. They are usable to search for public information, maps, as well as linking with standard Mission Boards Psimalicrum - The Psimalicrum is a potent, all purpose Computing core with greater capacity than anything else. So potent, and so secure, it is used in almost all major electronic circuits as the primary drive. The only way to make something better than a Psimalicrum, is by using multipl Psimalicrum together. VPCSR Scan - Vibrational Pulse Cross Section Reference. Advanced Medical Scans using harmless vibrational waves to build a 3D reference that can be cross-sectioned and microscoped to the level of RNA. Its harmless nature and ease of production makes VPCSR imaging the most reliable, affordable, and accurate scanning tool available to doctors. Cheap enough for a field ward to have, and compact enough to fit in most closets. Xera, Xeraphic - Xera is the energy of infinity and potential. It has gone by many names. Mana, Majika, Arcana, but it is all the same. It manifests in many ways, and some are more gifted than others in using it. Anyone can use Xera, and anyone can learn. Though as with all skills, it requires time, discipline, and an open mind. once someone has sufficiently understood Xera, they begin to be able to produce an infinite potential of powers. |

Amendment 3 As a pair to Curses, Blessings have also been added as a slot type. Curses cannot be applied to a character at creation, and only be gotten from NPCs. (Usually by pissing them off@Inaru-sama) Blessings are gotten in the same fashion Yes, finally! We have a Slot type specifically dedicated to psionics. It honestly took me way too long to get around to that. If you want to change any earlier Psionic slots just request it in the Requests thread for organizational purposes. it should be free less you change some stuff. Also @Inaru-sama See Blessing and Psionics under Magic and Abilities. |

Amendment 4 Due to request from multiple people we have attempted to make a rough form of how we will do starting assets. It has imperfection, so like all systems the kinks will ironed out over time. For existing characters a form to request a lifestyle and starting assets will be added. Do note it will need to be done in that order. See Starting Assets. |
