How many episodes should i watch to decide if i am going to like the anime ?

2 for me but sometimes you start a show and in the first 10 minutes you just know it's awful.

For this series especially, I knew right from the start I loved it.

Its not like it's one of those shows that starts off one way, then changes style, or takes a while to warm up- Part of its appeal is the way it's kind of low-key and 'boring', and you never really have full context of the world (or, I still have 2 eps to go, but Im not expecting some big reveal or anything).

Personally, I think it's an amazing series, up there with Kinos Journey amd Mushishi. But if someone doesn't like it by the end of episode one, I'd be surprised if they changed their mind 3 eps in, because what you see is what you get.

I fell in love just after watching the 1st episode. Whereas for Steins Gate it took 10 and it's amazing! so it depends

Well, in extreme cases I'd say 1 or 2, but I guess the golden rule is 3 if you want to see if it's your gusto or not...

While three episodes is a good start, after a while you can normally tell by a few minutes in, if not by the end of the first. If a show can’t hook you with a good premise and introduction, it’s probably not going to hook you later.

That all said, much as I fell in love with this show after just one episode, if the first episode is too slow for you, it’s just not going to be your thing. Like others said, the slow, pensive tone is what you should expect throughout. All that said, if nothing else just look up Amedare no Uta, especially the lyric video by Pizza Ex, the alternate ending theme for one of the episodes. It pretty much encapsulates why (I think) most people love the show. If that doesn’t appeal to you, I doubt the rest of the show will.

I agree with -Yokai-, I thought it was around a 7 for the most part before that, but episode 6 was the first great episode imo and has made the rest of the show really good to great so far (1 to go). It does a good job encapsulating the show, so I think it's a good indication of whether you'll like the rest or not. Tldr, I'd recommend watching through episode 6 and if you are not interested by that point then it's prob better to drop it.
