Can anyone please explain the meaning behind the scenes shown in the opening? I really didn't get it at all.

I assume that was an alternative story unrelated to the main story line, featuring a romantic relationship between Suruga and Rouka and somewhat drama in that alternative story. This is just my theory, though. I'd be very appreciated if someone could tell what the real meaning is.
