Do you guys prefer the Mandarin dubbed or Japanese dubbed？

I really want to listen to the Mandarin version both because I want to improve my Mandarin and because that's the language the Manhua was originally in.

Also, I think the Mandarin version is ahead of the Japanese version.
The second episode is already out in Mandarin.

Obviously Japanese. To me mandarin is just not nice to listen to.

To be perfectly honest, coming from a Chinese, I definitely prefer the Japanese dub more. I don't really get why there have been so many occasions that in the Mandarin dubs, they always speak it very fast. And that results in the lines being less expressive when compared to the Japanese dub.

It's probably because even though I do speak Mandarin, I never speak it as fast as that. Sometimes it works like during exposition. But with character interactions, I can't help but feel like they are a bit stiff and unenthusiastic when voicing the characters.

Also, what the heck? The lines are different for each version. ^_^

After actually watching the whole episode, I'd say the Mandarin dub wasn't all that bad especially in the restaurant part. But I still think the Japanese dub was still better overall.

That being said, I preferred the original Chinese version's route whereby the customers weren't really talking shit behind their backs when compared to the Japanese version. The Chinese version made more sense. Why the heck would the other customers suddenly turn into a bunch of douchebags only to later be like "Those guys were pretty interesting. What are they cosplayers?" I'm like what?!

These are not really major issues but it definitely felt like they were trying too hard to make it different from the original. And it doesn't mean it's always better though. ^_^

Oh. I interpreted that scene as the boy being overly conscious and started thinking that the other customers hate them, when in reality, the other customers were fine.

There were a couple points in the second episode where there were obvious audio fails (background noise cutting out to silence.) I'm much more used to hearing Japanese than Chinese too, so I'll stick with the Japanese audio.

Is that really the same singer for the OP? It really sounds like it to me.

I'm pretty sure I hear Namikawa Daisuke's voice coming out of dog boy. And, as others mentioned, I'm just not used to hearing Chinese. I saw a show entirely in Korean before and that was sort-of offputting and stiff as well.

Well, I'm more used to japanese dubs than chinese, sometimes even understand what a character is saying without reading the subtitles, but I'm fine with any option.

No tomo malas decisiones, solo me gusta apoyar causas perdidas.

I prefer whatever the series originally was made in. cause it just feel more fit in most cases, only few exception where a dub in a different language than the intended one, does it feel better, example of that is RWBY originally made in English but the Japanese dub was Superior.
so for this series, i find the Chinese (Mandarin ) better than the Japanese dub.

I understand Mandarin and it is obvious the voice acting is horrible. It's robotic and doesn't fit what's happening in the anime. So I prefer Japanese dubbed more. Though, Japanese dubbed might be equally as bad if I understand Japanese.

Why do people keep referring to the Japanese audio as "dubs"? It is the original audio. It is NOT a duplication (I use that word loosely).

Speed is Life - 1st ID... patch on my shoulder.

many of us are not used to chinese, the accent is way too strong. it also sound more rude and invasive in a way, i don't know. the language itself is just unpleasant to the ears. im pretty sure many would agree the same

Personally I prefer the Mandarin dub. Having read the manhua first, the Japanese dub bugs me in how it changed the character's names.

From someone who learned Chinese first, I should prefer it since I understand it more than Japanese as well as the original source being in Chinese. However, I'm used to watching anime in Japanese, plus I love Hayami's voice. So I prefer Japanese in this case.

In most anime, the Japanese audio is a dub in the first sense, and English is a dub in the second sense (Webster) / third sense (Wiktionary).

In this show's case, it's a coproduction and I assume the dialogue would have been recorded in both languages at about the same time, so they're both dubs in the first sense. Interestingly the editing of the two versions is substantially different in most episodes.
