Had a ton of fun with this. Rio's design is just too erotic. For me, this is the epitome of the ridiculous 90s OVAs; a mix of zany humor and action.

This is pretty fun for what it is. I want more over the top anime with trigger happy police women.

this episode was much better than the rest and a lot of fun but still doesn't redeem sitting through the previous 3 episodes.
I'm giving this series a 4/10

Well I'm glad this wasn't longer than 4 episodes, I hope the other Burn Up seasons will be better.

I just finished watching all 4 episodes, it wasn’t that great. It’s also weird how they seemingly kept Maki from the original Burn Up OVA (with the same name and voice actor) but changed her design and made her the boss of the team, while Rio is basically the same character as Maki from the original OVA but with a different name. Still, they don’t make shows like this any more, so it was worth watching.

Ep1 - Frivolous but fun
Ep2 - Amazing and ahead-of-its-time
Ep3 - Profound (until the last few minutes that segue into Ep4)
Ep4 - Total trash

Epilogue is weird, since it seems to hint that a lot more plot development was planned but that, one way or another, the project lost funding. Hard to tell if it lost funding because Ep 4 was such a trainwreck, or if Ep 4 was a trainwreck because nobody cared at that point about a dead project. Maybe it's just because I like futuristic police drama so much, but I think the show honestly could have been quite good if it was allowed to hit its stride, since it felt like a cornier version of Ghost in the Shell during the better parts of 2 and 3. The details about self-learning generative AI and the headset that looks like a Playstation VR device were both surprisingly prescient given that stuff like that is - in one way or another - real now in the 2020s!

4/10 overall, some worthwhile moments but lots I could have skipped.

idk, i like retro anime like this. There is something that cant be found in modern (2000+) anime.

Rio and Maya's costumes are very stylish. And the fighting/shooting part looks very exciting and cool.

I think ill watch something else from the Burn Up! series.
