I was posting some speculation on the 12th episode and thought it would be good to have a proper place for thinking about the weird stuff in this show.

So I have a bunch of questions. I'll pose these, then some ideas I have. Feel free to add your own questions/answers!

First, the Questions:

  1. Why does Aiko's finger bleed at the end? Curious, since the show seems to focus on it...
  2. What did Yuya do for the two years after the Burst? Why didn't he try to get to Primary Point sooner?
  3. What exactly triggered the burst?
  4. What did the doctor's do with Isazu's daughter before the series starts? Why is she seemingly controlling some of the matter?

And here are my ideas on some possible answers:

  1. My thought on this one is the carbon nanotubes were actually an injection - I think they show Isazu injecting the original Aiko body in one scene. So in theory, they could eventually pass out of the body, returning her to normal. They didn't in the show because Yuya was secretly having her inject these during the show, claiming it would mask her from the Matter (which it clearly didn't); presumably to keep her convinced that she had the artificial body.
  2. A couple possibilities here - perhaps he had to recover from the body transplant. Or, perhaps it took time to come up with a plan that might actually get someone to Primary Point (finding the right divers). But I'm still not really sure.
  3. I think the actual trigger was when Isazu injected the carbon nano-tube matter in the real Aiko body. There is a scene where Kurose says something like "... and when Isazu introduced that it caused the burst. I doubt even Isazu realizes that." I still have no idea what that comment really means... But this might explain why the burst didn't occur during the surgery, which should have happened if the artificial Aiko body was really going to go crazy because its brain was removed. Yuya lied about all kinds of things, so we can't exactly take his word on the situation.
  4. this I have no idea about!

!. It is to make clear that the original Aiko is now a normal girl. No it does not make sense.

2. Yuva has a lot of preperations to make. As well he has to wait until Aiko is sufficiently recovered.

3. The burst is the reaction of the artificial body, to Aiko's original brain. Why this reaction and why did the body keep Aiko's original brain alive for two years, is not explained.

4/ Unclear when or why the daughter iis connected to the clone bodies. Not even clear why there were so manyu clones.

On the whole, the series does not make sense. Turn up suspension of disbelief to 11, apply the rule of cool and watch the cool guys with jet powered roller skates take on the blob.
