| OK, I'm not sure if maybe something was lost in translation as I watched the dub, but wtf? My sister and I were laughing at the ridiculousness of this lion suddenly seppuku-ing himself IN A CHILDREN'S MOVIE, and then at how sick it was for Lune to, you know, walk on the FLESH OF HIS DEAD FATHER without any indication that the movie meant it to be horrifying. Please tell me we're not alone in finding this bizarre. |

| This fim is a recreation 1:1 adaptation of the 2nd half of the manga, so nothing was censored. It was pure Tezuka all the way, a product of the time for sure, but I am happy it did not deveate from its source material. The only thing that was not included was the epilogue beacuse it was more relevent to the 1st half of the story and the final naration by Tezuka. "Africa absorbs all Living things into its Wilderness and Locks them in. Does it look down upon those who challenge and Disrespect it!?" |
