Still as informative as ever like historical conducts of humanitarians, state of wars, etc. and the light novel have branched off new chapters not there in the web novel now. Starting from introducing new characters such as Genia and Ludwin. I like how crazy are Genia's innovative invention that seems out of what matters. The part about the jewel voice actually being a dungeon core is somewhat unexpected. And their engagement stirred up really fast(I mean to all new couples born in this volume as well)! I'm always amazed by how romance and diplomatic affairs don't have a line in between here in this story.

I'm also glad to hear the logics why technologies are slowly advancing yet in this world even though magic can almost accommodate to anything like becoming a substitute for combustion, hydro power plant, mining, etc but that mechadragon though(I'm excited to see if it will ever be put to use).... and it's also good to hear the fundamentals of magic here isn't as simple as enumerating the periodic table and it has more complex bonds to it.

Moving on, Roroa's personality is more vibrant than I imagined, but it's making it hard to look at her as a romantic partner to Souma due to that. I hope to see more endearing side of her too. Also, even though this had once been rejected, I feel that Souma getting betrothed to Maria isn't far from reality, given their chemistry have a good sign with it, and, if people of the empire sees this attraction between the two, wait, then again, they might be also wary of Souma's scheming attitude as he make an example of making a twist out of the Gran Khaos Empire's mankind declaration decree.

It's nice to see Serina and Juno in the illustrations, Serina look the part of a high class maid/with her sadistic aura intact as well..But Juno, not quite...I guess I'll adjust to it.

The last chapter have now told us the mystery behind the king's decision and George's unconditional trust to Souma, good connections and with that, "Midword" says the 'first part' is finally concluded. But yeah it's a world building type of setting so I'm expecting to read more than 6 more volumes and hoping those "ceremonies" happens sooner.

I'm loving the story so much I decided to jump the gun and bought v4 and v5 raw on bookwalker. My japanese is not really good but enough to know the gist of what the characters are saying. Moving on to what I thought of v4 :

I was pretty surprised that Genia was the one that stole the dragon fossil. Didn't expect a scientist to steal something like that. More reason to call her mad scientist I guess.

I laughed a lot when Souma can do nothing but accept to annex the whole Amidonia. Roroa is a force to reckon with, I also like how she flirts with Souma and jealousy ensues lol. The addition of Roroa and friends (Corbel and others) solidifies the higher-up that manage Elfrieden. The cast is just getting bigger and bigger and bigger from one volume to the next and I love it.

By the way, I'm interested to see more interaction between Souma (either through his puppet or himself) and Yuno hha.

It's to be noted that in the Nakagaki (Midword according Zaphkiel) the writer pointed out that Vol 1 to Vol 4 is one big story, and with this, the 'rebuilding' arc is over. The next volume onward is 'remodeling' (改造記, romaji: Kaizouki) arc. Can't wait for the next volume!
This is a signature.

I felt the romance a bit rushed up, kinda how he says yes to the other 3(Juno,Aisha,Roroa), felt like similar to the smart phone one. Also, they could actually have made the confession a bit more sentimental maybe, I actually felt nothing from it.
Do you think the Lion's alive??
I'm pretty damn sure Carla, Jeanne, Maria will be in his harem.

The confession is lacking huh, can't help about it XD....Because of all things that happened, it would be weird for Souma and Liscia not to take their feelings for granted already. And Souma is a realist for all it's worth, I can't imagine him reciting love poetry in front of his harem.....

Carla is....still Souma's limiter so no chance.
And there's a good amount of sugar looming between Hakuya and Jeanne but Maria is still unblemished. I Hope she really join the harem

And yes the Lion is.

No I mean there was a lack of buildup before the confession, a bit of tension, you know what I mean na!
I'm pretty sure Carla will be most probably because of Liscia. You might be right bw hakuya and Jeanne. But Mary sure would be just like how Juno is(in front of the world she's not his fiance).
You never know he might even have to marry tomoe lol, just like uchimusume 😉

Wait so Ludwin is a light novel only character, hmm...
What is your opinion on the LN compared to the WN? Should I keep on with the LN or the WN? What is cannon?

I suppose continuing the light novel is a better choice here since there's more content now. But I also haven't read the WN for so long so I can't really say with certainty. There wasn't much difference to begin with in terms of the main storyline.
