Really like this focus on Mouten, next chapter will show what happened on the other sides probably.

Loved the chapter. And yeah, it'll likely be a flashback or some character exposition through which we'll know.

Damn Mouten was awesome, he's more and more looking like this younger generation's Riboku, he's got the brains to act smart and fast in tight situations, plus he's good with the sword in fights as well (heh they even look similar).

Good on Kisui to act fast and press them during the end, but sadly he couldn't stomp them to the end so they had to retreat. Too bad we couldn't see Riboku's face when that messenger said "We have failed".

There goes day 1 of this war.

Shin did a great job of running away after Kyuokai told him what was going on They were being used as a decoy to draw certain units away from the left where Mounten was attacking Mouten outsmarted Riboku and Ten is fangirling him.

When Shin reported to Mouten about the Kisui army Mouten really looked dead

good job Mouten , left side army have avoided annihilation , props to Kyoukai too for drawing Batei's aggro quite well
that said , seems like it still sting to lose a commander and probably most of right half of the army ..Ousen will most probably point out Mouten to replace Makou at this battle

Man, this chapter was pure greatness.

And this is why Mouten is one of my favourite character.

Gotta say, I am really liking this arc as it progresses, but I seriously need more Shin. Ok, he is the main character and he was the saving grace of the last...I don't know, 4-5 arcs, but this one is special because he finally took upon Ouki's glaive. We need him to do something worthy of it. I get it that he is more brawn than he is brain, but I also need to see that "instinctual general" that Duke Hyou saw in him. So far, all he has done was stand on the backline, being stupid, while our window into what is being done was only Karyo Ten. I got nothing against them, but dammit, give Shin his spot of a main character already.

Well it is a single author but there's probably his editors giving their advice on the story and since its based on real history and he's following is pretty closely.

+1, Shin needs to develop already since we have a lot of chapters now, he has a habit of reckless decisions and didn't really develop much apart from his brute strength powerup, from a strategical viewpoint(even Ten loses her mind when she faces a hopeless situation). Duke Hyou was said to have his instincts developed from experience, Shin has quite a few battles under his belt now so he should be able to take some clever decisions himself instead of relying on Ten everytime. I just hope Hara addresses this since Shin right now is nowhere close to a general imo, maybe a few more battles before he gets promoted and I also think Mouten and Ouhon will get promoted before him.

The central question of this manga is whether Shin and Kyoukai will have a baby. All this stuff with unification of China is just a background to this.

Shin is just disappointing as a character tbh. He has so little character progression it’s annoying. Everyone else can actually think and make plans anything really except him. Even if it’s his character, I still haven’t seen the whole instinctual general at use ever really. If he wasn’t the Mc he would be such a trash commander he basically gets by off the plot armor of him killing generals. Without that he’s nothing. Now the saddest part of the whole chapter is it seems like ten is going to be took away smh. Add salt on my wound why don’t you.

Shin's instinct became off or what? Also mouten did what kanki couldn't do against kisui so it proves mouten>>>>> kanki by a mile?
