The Next Miracle is a fanfic that features an OC basketball player about to join the original KnK team... Well, this may not sound like an impressive plot because it's already very common to see "OC joins canon gang and so on" kind of plot. But is it worth reading?

The sufficiently detailed basketball match makes it worth reading because it's like you're watching one in the TV. Moreover, because both players are struggling, the overall match is even more suspenseful.

Sadly, the OC isn't a nice one to read. Kanzaki is pretty much good at everything (as stated by himself, he's pretty much the best at everything), and he can put up a serious match with a basketball veteran like Kise. All while being inexperienced with basketball. And he learns to copy other characters' styles in just a few seconds. This is worsened by the fact that the time Kise took to master copying styles is mentioned. Sure, he ends up losing to Kise and passing out due to cramps/overexerting his body, and they're all reducing the Gary Stu points...until Kise says that Kanzaki has latent potential.

That's from the power side. Personality-wise, Kanzaki only has one prominent trait: arrogance. However, this is likely because the story is told in 3rd person limited POV, and everything is in Kise's POV.

Kise is pretty fine, although can be a bit generic at times. His major defining moment is when he shoos the thugs for Kanzaki, showing his big brother instinct.

Sufficient and not overboard descriptions (although this can use more descriptions at times), a fair amount of dialogue and Kise's thoughts make a fine recipe for easy-to-read writing. Grammar-wise, there are typos and errors, but they're rarely distracting because they're pretty minor.

Yeah, this one is an okay fic because it's easy to read with nice choreography of a basketball match, though the suspiciously Gary Stu OC can be off-putting for some people.

Pros:
+ Little to no fandom knowledge needed
+ Well-written basketball match scene
+ Kise is a fine character, although can be rather generic
+ Easy to read writing style

Cons:
- Overused storyline
- Kanzaki is likely a Gary Stu
- Not grammatically clean
