I was tearing up at all the feelings and emotions Akizuki-san poured into this chapter. At long last, Shirayuki and Zen reunited! Oh my, Zen almost lost control.

What are Zen, Mitsuhide, and Kiki planning to do with their break?

Thank you, @earthfairys!

It was an amazing chapter. The best chapter in 2 years, perhaps.

If you are talking about me, I'm not shutting down my blog any time soon. I've translated this series for almost 8 years. This is no time for me to just quit.

The one who quit is the raw provider. And to be honest I am still fuming about that, since the raws that she shared is now spreading all over the internet along with my translations, by an amateur typesetter; both of which were used without our permission or our knowledge. I don't blame her for quitting after such an incident.

Ah ok, It sucks they did all that without permission and even using your own translations. Hasn't this happen before? I saw two versions of a older chapter that had very different qualities of scan/redraw but seemed to use similar translations if I remember. Though I don't remember who made the two versions. I'd only just found your site a few days before this stuff went down after having basically marathoned the whole manga over a couple nights then reading your transcripts with the raws on your site for the new chapters.

I'm just amazed this series has never been licensed considering the quality of the manga and how popular the anime is. Just can't understand how it has never happened. I really love this series and was at a loss for a few days afterward having caught up..

I'm glad you enjoy this series though. To answer your questions:

1) Has this happened before?
Yes. Lots of times in the past when the scanlations were very slow. I started translating this series on the side because a lot of things were going on with the scanlation groups; groups were dropping and picking up this series left and right, and eventually the group that picked it up (Fallen Syndicate) complained about the quality of the magazine scans and decided not to scanlate the chapters until the actual volumes are released. I provided my translations to pad out this waiting period, during which about 10 people came forward and offered to scanlate the series (and plenty more that did it without permission). That's where all the sketchy quality of the manga came from. About a few more years into it, someone with scanlating experience approached me and asked to scanlate the chapters using the Chinese scans. She eventually formed the group Akagamins, and that group has been scanlating the series since.

However, while it was common for me, this was the first time something like that happened for the raw provider. This was also after a build-up of rude comments complaining about how slow her scans were, or the low quality of the scans (mostly due to the poor printing of the magazine), or even consistently pounding her about the next release. I am used to such comments and have learned to ignore them, but this is all pretty new to her. I'm not surprised she snapped.

2) Two versions of an older chapter...
Likely from Fallen Syndicate and Akagamins. Fallen Syndicate, as I've mentioned, scanlates the volume scans, which contains better visuals, new panels, and sometimes complete redraws from the mangaka. Akagamins scanlates the magazine scans, hence we are much more ahead than Fallen Syndicate. Nevertheless, Fallen Syndicate still uses my translations, due to the fact that they are running out of translators. Since my translations are readily available and popular, they asked to use it.

3) This series has never been licensed...
It has been licensed in other languages, but never in English. It is pretty strange that no company has offered to license it either, especially since it got an anime adaption. We'll just have to spam the companies with requests and hope for the best.

Ah I went back and look and the chapter I really first noticed it was chapter 47 where she first moves into the castle. When they first reveal the room to her one version I saw is from Fallen that has detailed art while the other doesn't have a group name and is just basic line art. I guess this is what you mean between volume and magazine differences.

I actually submitted it as one my suggestions for the latest seven seas poll for manga/ln to pick up. This is one I'd certainly be buying the volumes for especially if they do digital versions if put out.

Nope, not happening. That would ruin the manga if that were to happen.

I really enjoyed the reunion between Zen and Shirayuki. Both of them crying was Dae Bak.

I’m a big fan of Izana and Zen’s relationship so I was happy to see how mad Izana was about the attempt on his little brother’s life. Sometimes I find it amusing that it seems like Izana raised Zen. I wonder when Haruto left the palace how old Zen was at the time.
